Dear Blizzard,
I had only been playing Era pvp servers since release of Classic, please consider my proposition.
Players on Era are able to synchronize via discord communication multiple 5 people groups to queue at the same time.
Therefore, we still see a full premades or like 10/15 premade groups facing pugs.
As an experienced player I can say that even 5 people premade group in AB or WSG is enough to beat any pug group of the opposition.
Therefore it creates an unfair advantage for premade team and toxic environment for the solo queue players.
I played on both sides where I was in premade facing pugs and reverse.
There is no fun or sport to beat severely disadvantaged pug group or to be beaten and camped on spawns by premades.
In my honest opinion,
addition of a solo queue option to the game will only enhance BG experience for everyone, where is Premades will face Premades and pug groups face pug groups.
if addition of solo queue is too much to ask , please consider at least to limit the group queu for 3 people.
It’s an interesting conundrum. Era is to be a museum – preserving what the game was when it first started. The issue arises when everything around it has changed, thus preservation of how era operated requires proactive changes.
Proactively maintaining the puggable nature of era should also be a thing. For the same reason Yellowstone won’t let you offroad in its sanctuaries. It’s been preserved for the public, but now everyone and their mother can fly or drive there and bring tons of 2024 trash with 2024 pollution, etc. So in order to preserve it, you need a rule system.
I’d say a solo queue or randomized cross faction pugging is warranted.
Maybe you’re not nearly as experienced as you think. A full pug group can beat a full premade. Not all teams/groups are equal, and you cannot overstate the value of actually trying.
You are able to queue by yourself.
Perhaps they could just remove this ability. While sure, you are of course entitled to your own opinion, I’m genuinely surprised people feel comfortable asking for this sort of thing on these forums.
Throwers and quitters are rife in Classic BGs, and it turns people away from the game. You want to get some free rewards for doing nothing while getting carried by your team?
Go to play SoD (or probably Retail also. Cata Classic is hardly better, but at least there are RBGs and Arenas).
They already reverted the premade changes, you can que up as 10 or 15 again as of thursday.
Why do you think a group of 5 coordinated people can beat a non coordinated group?
Why do you think that is? I have been in plenty of pug games who beat premades.
All premades are, are groups of people trying to link up with like minded players, or attempting to exclude throwers and quitters from their team.
The correct answer is to promote a mode you want without telling other players they cannot group with their friends. If you dont want to fight premades, either join a group or ask for a “solo q only” - but this is era and we shouldnt be changing era at all. Unfortunately every sod patch, something gets changed which is unacceptable
That being said, sod had proven to us that the complaints about players wanting to dismantle organized groups is because the unorganized groups wanted a better win/loss ratio and nothing else. We have proof of that now, and I feel that is a non issue.
Classic wow pvp is not the only pvp game where the losing party complains about losing to the winning party.
I only trying to suggest this new matchmaking system so the players can get a better experience from the game.
Some of the coolest BGs I played was Premade vs Premade.
I am not against Premades, I want more fair matchmaking, Its not about the loss to Premade as Pug, its about how you lose to it. It discourages solo players to queue BGs and only players who are ranking are forced to queue and they hate this experience. Therefore we are having less WSG, less ABs games on non bonus week.
They already did that in SOD. It was in era for about 7-8 months. All it showed us was that it is worse for the game overall. For both parties, actually.
I don’t quite understand what you mean here.
That’s not my experience. Solo players continue to play regardless. They always have for a decade now.
That is a product of alterac valley, nothing else really
It doesn’t matter how much experience I have, anyway. You made the statement that you are an experienced player:
I was commenting on that. You may be new to the forums, and relatively new to WoW Classic, so perhaps you haven’t seen my 8000+ posts, a lot of which have been about BGs, often with screenshots, sometimes with videos.
what are you talking about. Its never been on Era. I been playing only Era, I was there when the first WSG popped, first AB and first AV. not sure what are you talking about…
There is no difference between people who groups together before the game or not. It just happens that skilled pvp players are more likely to group. Banning group queue just kills pvp for a lot of people that want to play with their friends.
What the game needs is MMR so players (whether solo or group) are more likely to end up end in games with similar skilled players.
SoD premade ban has been on Era - that’s why people had to sync 5 man groups for last months.
Again, I repeat because wow players really really struggle with this: it isn’t about whether people are in a pre made or not, it is about the SKILL of the players that matchmaking needs to be done on.
You obviously have not - either that or you are completely out of the loop.
When phase 2 launched, SOD implemented a change that separated small groups (1-5) and big groups (6-10). This carried over into era, as the two games share the same client. (this is why there was a point where literal SOD runes were in era for a short time, and might of stormrend)
I remember everyone complaining in the era disc about how they could not run raids on wsg weekend.
I don’t really understand your gripe fully, besides not wanting to lose which is understandable. You do play a mage and you are in rank 14 gear - you have the most capability over any class that can carry your team to beat teams other than druid
Oh , yeah, I know the was that nerf for 5 man group , but on my first post , I explained it. that nerf didn’t work and premade kept forming. sorry, I misunderstood there
I like that idea too. Honestly, something has to be done with current matchmaking. Its not really good experience for the new player or players who are been on the side constantly farmed by premades 10-15 games in a row.
It isn’t fun for premades either to stomp noobs.
But 10 good random solo queue players are more or less the same as 10 people in a premade. So it is better that premade ends up versus those 10 solo queue good players than, for example, a premade of 10 noobs.
TBH that would work only if there was a big enough player base and an incentive, more honor or gear or whatever it may be. Right now there’s not quite enough interest in anything but AV to make that work for AB or WSG, as nice as that would be.
I think the idea of MMR is good. But it’s very difficult to continue, year after year to sympathize with the play of victimization when the team getting farmed is literally saying, “Just let them win.” “Stop rezzing.” “don’t cap.”
No man, you just need to actually try. People don’t want to play with you, because you are throwing games, and so they stop queuing. It’s not because they are losing or getting farmed. It’s unfun because you are on a team with people who are actively dragging their teammates down.
This is the worst thing in this game (for me), and the major reason I left sod, and why I have muted the SoD forums. I don’t even like having this same tired conversation again and again.
STOP THROWING GAMES!!! or people won’t play with you.
