Solo Qs are rough my dudes

its everyone else’s fault but the alliance…op racials,rigged map…lol.

I did this. I was in a blasting guild for about 3 months with a lot of 90th percentile + parsers consistently.

I did go back to an old guild that reformed and has much less emphasis on parses. Much more enjoyable for me. I still bring consumes and get most of the world buffs if I can but not nearly as hardcore as the last guild I was in.

However. Solo Q doesnt really have this option. I’m not hating on people that want to bring full consumes to BGs just like people that bring full consumes to raids. Thing is when you PUG you are matched up against those who do and the disparity shows BIG time.

I’ll be honest and objective about what I experience. I dont want large scale changes to classic. I’m a no changes kind of guy, but the changes they HAVE made havent really bothered me yet.

Today I Q’d for 7 BGs in the little over 2 hour span I had this morning before my kid woke up. 7 seems like a lot for 2ish hours with 15 minute Qs dont it?

That’s because 6 of the 7 were against premades dropping sappers on PUGs and lasted less than 10 minutes lol. The one PUG I had was the last game and was very enjoyable. Horde PUGs seem to win more often but its still a 3-2 bases kind of game. (They were all AB).

I feel like separating the queues is still going to have issues, most people are advocating for maximum party sizes of 5, thats enough to still easily dominate a WSG for example.

See, I dont even want to do that. It will have workarounds in my opinion due to faction imbalance. Even if when you Qd with 6 or more it FAVORED putting you against other groups would be enough for me.

Having no ladder or MMR is rough lol.

Thats part of what makes classic so much fun, the ladder system is so bad in BFA after blizzard introduced so many RNG mechanics into the gearing system, the ladder now is comical. I couldn’t imagine a ladder element in classic, I guess it could work for “RBGs”, but can you imagine arenas LMAO.

lol, ya idk I haven’t played much retail sense WotLK. I was a gladiator in BC and ya that would’nt fly in classic.

All you need to know about retail is that season 1 glads was 2400 and rank 1 was 3100, you just “get” glads if you have 50 wins over 2.4 CR now, its a joke.

Unfortunate, shadowlands though right?!

It feels really great to play 0 honor pug v pre games all day.

0 bonus honor, 0 HK in a 5 cap AB or 3 cap WSG – You’re literally just getting farmed at the graveyard.

The reason why AV is so stupid right now is because Horde solo queue players can’t get honor anywhere else. People who are exalted with their faction’s AV reputation still queue for AV in place of AB and WSG because there’s a 95% chance you’re going to get 5/3 capped for 0 honor in those battlegrounds.

They should fix CC durations to be 8 second maximums in PvP instead of warlock fear, freezing trap, Entangling Roots, and polymorph lasting a potential of 30+ seconds with DR’s affecting that downward. They should fix trinkets to affect all forms of CC for every class. They should reduce the area of effect of frost nova by about 20%, and split premade/solo queue.

If it takes longer to find a game where I’m not going to get pugstomped by a full team of t2 geared engineers, I’m willing to wait.

Even on my worst day in Vanilla as a solo queue player, it was never even a fraction as bad as it is in classic.

#nochanges gets us nowhere except to perpetuate poor quality gameplay.

Im not getting my hopes up.

Ya all that CC stuff is for TBC my dude. That is never happening in classic.

Just for another point of reference.

Premade:

PUG:

The difference is staggering. Notice i lost the pug game too but it was far more enjoyable and still rewarded a fair amount of honor.

Forgive me I still cant seem to get the links to work. I think I just havent posted enough for blizz to trust me lol?

Premade vs premade = quality gameplay.

Pug vs Pug = quality gameplay.

Premade vs pug = poor quality gameplay.

should be fixed.

Having queued exclusively for AB and WSG, I’ve played for 4 hours today and gotten 4k honor and basically 0 reputation. Significantly less than half of the honor provided by a single win in AV for a negligible amount of reputation.

Every single game is a consumable popping, gy camping premade.

You might get 1 good, fair game a day and it’s an exciting back and fourth. In vanilla, that was the rule and not the exception. Classic has failed to recreate that; which is why i deem change necessary.

I would be happy if they got rid of the decay. Just leave it where you get something… sh1t, I wouldnt mind seeing my honor bar move at 1% if I can only gain 350k honor a week.

decay is definitely frustrating.

i feel like i can’t focus on anything else in the game until i make rank 10 so that I don’t have to concern myself with rank decay prior to reaching my goal.

that said, it feels bad to accomplish that in AV where the resistance feels stalwart, but also futile… I’m sitting on the other end of that right now in AB/WSG and it doesn’t feel all that great.

My shaman’s already down 5 or 6 ranks from reaching rank 10 early on. beyond reputation, pvp holds no further reward to him unless I wanted to reprogress through many months of backward progress.

That’s a pretty bad feeling too.

Patch 2.0 addressed that well enough imo. When they release BC, I hope they start new classic patch 2.0 servers where they just time gate the sets in accordance with raid tiers.

I hear you. I hit rank 10 on my hunter and with 350k for a week, drop back to 96% into rank9. I quickly gave up.

I dont see the reason for decay.

This is where the no changes crowed go it wrong.

PVP would be off the hook fun if they had rated battlegrounds instead of honor grind.

On the contrary, pvp would be off the hook if people didn’t treat it like a corporate buisness, and instead just played it for fun like the rest of us.

See I disagree with you. Gaming in general has gotten far more hardcore and there is nothing wrong with playing the game “good” so to speak.

However with absolutely zero matchmaking system you get zero options for your opposition. I’ve been in a few premades. Although it feels better to be the hammer than the nail it still isn’t enjoyable to just camp graveyard after graveyard of PUGS.

The way it is right now isnt fun for anyone besides the people with only a goal of reaching the next rank. That small percentage of players that just like seeing that rank bar go up and like to see how much honor they can get in a week I imagine.

There isn’t anything wrong with being good at the game.

There is something wrong with hand selecting your team mates to enter a game variant where the other team was randomly generated; that said, it doesn’t feel fair to mandate social interaction either.

RBG’s are a flawed system because there’s a divide between conquest and honor in terms of how rewarding those resources are toward the advancement of your character.

Some people just would prefer not to make social ties online. I’m a darn good player, but I’m not the most sociable person you’ve ever met. It doesn’t seem fair to me that I’m penalized for that reason, and not because I’m not skilled at the game.

Matchmade activity should be match made.

You wait in queue, the system finds players that are appropriate to your skill level to the best of it’s ability given its’ measurements, and proposes to pit like-skilled players against each other in a fair match.

Highest quality gameplay possible is achieved.

Is it a massively multiplayer online game? Yes. Are you going to have to work together as a team in order to defeat an enemy team? Yes. But at the end of the day, my purpose for playing it is the gameplay which results from facing other players – who are unpredictable unlike an AI, which leads to unique gameplay elements and scenarios in each and every game based on the decisions all players involved make.

My purpose for playing is expressly not: to make online relationships; and when that feels mandated by the circumstance of game systems, it frustrates me.

As far as I’m concerned, the Nochanges scene can stuff it. There are many broken mechanics in this game right now, and I’m convinced that people who hide behind that in PvP want:

  • Que dodging
  • Win Trading
  • Pug Farming

To disturb that honey pot pisses them off. PvP is quite popular right now, and this old system doesn’t meet the demand. It’s broken, and there is a reason Blizzard scrapped it when they did.
