Challenging content=better gear is the prevailing argument in this thread. The mount isn’t gear.
TC8 Solo is easier than heroic raiding.
Really? Sure could have fooled me based on the forums.
I am not.
I think gating gear behind rating promotes carries and aside from PvE content, PvP players suffer a lot due to the Mythic hero monkeys that queue into 1400 bracket with 40k HP and twice the dps as the fresh 200 ilevel player whose SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAT BRACKET in order to gear up.
Loot as a whole is an absolute disaster, and I don’t think just because you and you guildies are benefiting means that everyone else has to suffer.
neither of you are wrong tho
the community gate is just so toxic if your not META/1500 IO for a ten key (lol) all this stuff you cant get anything done at a high level
you hit that wall where you reroll and play meta or quit
you also have option of turning it down
people handle things differently but people quitting are going to be an issue down the line
it going to be super casuals are super hardcore with a big drought in the middle due to lack of players from rerolling/tuning it down or getting pass the barrier
Nah bro, youre wrong and nothing is going to change. You’ll sit here on the forums losing hours of your life trying to argue semantics of multiplayer and group and accomplish nothing all while using ilvl 197 gear. If you spent a fraction of your effort on the forums in trying to use the LFG tool and making friends you’d be 210+ ilvl.
There has been zero MMOs that have offered reward tiers at the highest level to solo players over group players in higher difficulty content. Not gonna happen, save your energy.
That must be why everyone has done it. OH WAIT.
198 gear is fine for average content.
You said “Where’s my loot?” A Mount is loot. None of Torghast rewards gear, so if you chose to do it, then good on you. The very published reward for finishing TC is a Mount. (Which is worth more than iLvl to some people)
I mean. The forums isn’t exactly a good barometer for that.
No one is suffering because they decide to not participate in content.
You are right. There are a ton of harder things than TC8 solo that everyone hasn’t done.
If only I had the work hours to play with friends regularly, gotta rely on pugs most of the time. And I think you are confusing taking away from players with making sure the reward meets the effort. So pugging heroic or M+ isn’t fun with no friends and isn’t worth the effort.
They actually are.
You might not realize how bad gear is considering you get carried by your guild while you AFK make a sandwich, but a majority of players who don’t want or have a guild are forced to deal with major gear disparity across all platforms of content.
This thread is but a drop in the bucket of people who are struggling, so you are 100% in the minority if you think this gear and loot system is actually even remotely good.
Dude, you’re giving me whiplash. First, you create that thread thrashing everyone who dares to speak well of SL. Then, only a few weeks ago you were raving about how fantastic the low loot drop rate was and how great it was for the game. Now you’re back to hating on the game?? You confuse me so much, Was that just a few weeks of cleverly disguised sarcasm??
It is intriguing that as soon as someone disagrees, people jump in to make up things about others.
Once again.
If you make the decision not to participate in content, any “suffering” is self inflicted.
Nowhere in my post did I say anything about world quests. I’m convinced half the people in this thread don’t know what a solo player means or how solo players play the game.
Ok, then where are the heroic and M+ scenario type instances where someone solo can be challenged and get better loot? They don’t exist. So those of us that have the skill yet have no desire to deal with the people are just SoL unless they PVP, which is tantamount to bashing your head against the wall.
What if they put in heroic and mythic solo only world quests that gave better loot? Would you still complain then?
That’s encroaching on progression player level, imo. Semi casual are those doing Normal and some Heroic raids and lower keys. Casual is just dungeons through M0 and LFR.
If people are AOTC on their own with their guild/friend/static group and then heading into Mythic raids, then that’s progression.
No if you make the decision to support forcing people to do content they can’t or don’t want to, you are suffering from “White Knight Syndrome”.
Here in the real world, loot drops are trash and the weekly loot box sometimes doesn’t even give an upgrade so unless you no life this game or have a guild like yours who carrys you while you AFK, there is no chance for the average player to gear up at all.
This system promotes paid carries, and hyperinflation of the ladder.
I stopped raiding with a guild a long time ago.
I also only post here when I have downtime, on my 2nd monitor, to kill time.
WotLK was a better gear system compared to the last 4 expansions.
Casuals could get some of the best gear at a slower rate and crafting had raid level gear as well.
I would like to see a return to something similar.
You get the gear for the content you do. Period. This isn’t rocket science.
