Solo players should never come even remotely close to the ilvl of players doing group content in an MMO.

Everyone should be able to get the highest gear. Those doing team content should just get it quicker.

I don’t think it should stop, i’m not saying that it should keep going until they’re getting mythic level gear but if people are willing to keep putting effort in then i don’t see the issue in it keeping pace with normal-heroic, somewhere in the middle perhaps?
In an ideal world i’d love to see a person be able to somewhat “spec” their character to being a strictly solo character so that it would enable deeper and more rewarding grinds but taking that path would essentially lock them out of other forms of gearing, even if it just meant that the time investment needed was such that they wouldn’t be able to double/triple dip and go for other gear sources.
The problem isn’t the “solo player”, the problem is the M+ rewards.
For gearing, M+ is the only real path outside of heroic raiding.
Anyone can start an M+ group. And two affixes normally isn’t that big a deal. M+5 can be run with random pug people. EVEN IF YOU DON’T SUCCEED with the timer, you’ll still get a chest at the end, but, most importantly, you’ll get something in the vault.
In the end, it’s a single piece of gear in the vault, no matter how many you run, but if you can it’s worthwhile to run 4 to get two spots open.
However, with a SINGLE M+ run, you’ll get a 200+ item in the vault. Even a +2 will give you that.
Anyone can start these.

If there was solo content as difficult as heroic raiding, then sure. But there isn’t.
And PVP. PVP is actually the best path for gearing right now.
Tell that to blizzard who keep throwing bread crumbs at these players in order to get there sub.

You don;t get it because you are self centered. If a path is possible for you it must be possible for everyone.
Well, its not. And that’s different than other expos so that’s bad.
And not participating in M+ or raiding isn;t necessarily a choice. Access is gated by other players and if you are behind the gear curve you don’t have access to break in without some way to progress your gear.
Not only do I disagree but it looks as though the entire industry disagrees.

I got an alt to 210 in less than a week just by spamming random battlegrounds, the covenant campaign, and torghast. I didn’t have to do a single dungeon, raid, or rated pvp match. This whole thread is stupid and wrong.

Simple solution, allow completing the hardest parts of Torghast each week unlock a decent weekly vault piece.

I do think this thread IS getting a bit derailed. OP does not want to do Group content and feels penalized because he can’t get group level iLvl gear. My point to him was that iLvl 198 is perfectly fine for doing casual, solo content. If he isn’t doing the challenging group content, then why does he expect (or need) the same iLVL reward?
Everyone is going to hit an iLvl Wall at some point in this game. If iLvl is the only reason for playing the game then yes, someone might get bored at that point. But alot of people have other game goals in mind once they hit their peak iLvl - even high-level Raiders.

Torghast compared to heroic raid. Damn my guild must be doing it wrong as none of our dps can do 100k dps to a mob with the same hp as a raid boss
They should bring back Titanforge, but only for people who play solo.
Solo players should understand that there is a limit to what you can achieve by yourself. But that doesn’t mean you can’t succeed without friends or a guild. There are plenty of pug groups that you can join to access high tier rewards.
You just can’t expect to be getting the top end gear because you killed 5 boars.

198 ilvl is good enough to participate in m+, raiding, and pvp to get better gear.
