SOLO PLAYER PENALTY -- Avg Gear Score Capped @ iLvl 198

Torghast isnt about gear. Its about soulash to build a leggo.

As for twisting corridors the reward is the mount. If you dont want to mount dont do it…

Not everything has to give you loot.

You obtain gear adequate to the content you are doing…?
Why do you think you should get raid level gear when you arnt doing content that requires or warrants that ilvl?

So then lets get rid of M+ and M raiding loot. Make all loot the same ilevel and just crank difficulty by number of puddles on the ground to avoid. That’s your logic.

I am in favor of a world progression path you got one, it is really the first time it has been implemented like this and it is great to see it, you were even given a weapon this time around, Weapons have traditionally been locked behind instanced content. there have been more then enough world quest rewards to flesh out. This is just the first tier same as everyone else. Lets hope it it continues through out the x-pac

I think part of the problem stems from gear being the only source of progression for characters anymore with scaling.
Leveling up left me feeling weaker.
Only with gear did I finally start to feel like I gained anything despite being 10 levels higher than at the start.

So the solution is that gear should take longer for solo players?

Hey. We do.

If a person chooses not to participate in the ways of meaningfully upgrading their characters, that is their fault.

No one is getting boned because they make a decision not to participate in content.

Wait…What?

Of course there is a path. The issue is people don’t want to pick the paths available.

You listed 2 paths, while ignoring a 3rd. PVP.

Possibly, but scaling kinda put up a wall for that.
Level 60 characters are wet noodles until you start getting 170+.

your not a semi casual tho lol semi casual atleast have or nearly have aotc want to do mythic and high m+
you dont even have lfr keys or any keys done lol

not to say your way of playign is wrong but

casuals and semi casuals are alot different

semi casuals are around 205-210 and cant climb any higher without some serious input into the game (pvp pushing or mythic raiding longer hours)

Okay, so a solo player should gear up past normal raid doing easier content? Being less than 5 ilvls apart isn’t good enough? Gearing up from quests and reps and crafting isn’t progression?

I asked this before but at what point does the progression stop? At what point is doing normal raid a waste of time, does it also go to heroic, maybe mythic raid being a waste of time? Is it fair there is a cap on normal raid gear? Why can’t normal raiders continue to progress their gear?

197 seems like a pretty decent ilvl for a solo player. I mean that is pretty much Normal Raid gear.

What’s the path? Become part of an organized raid group? Ya, that’s not a viable path for many players.

And it wouldn’t be an issue if this wasn’t a big change for the negative. In previous expos there was far more agency in progressing your toon without the need to raid.

Now, the gear gap pretty much prevents casuals from even pug raiding - you just cant get into groups.

I was 2400 io in BFA doing +20 keys and I can;t make any progress in M+ this season because without raiding I was so far behind the gear curve I’ve practically never been able to get into groups.

I miss the separate pvp chest for sure. Dont quote me on this as truth but I swear blizz said they want group content to be the best choice in game. I could be making this up

Once again.

If a person makes the decision to not participate in content, when there are 3 paths available to get gear outside of hitting the solo “cap”…that is not Blizzards fault.

Awesome. There are 2 other non raiding option for progressing your toon right now.

I see no problem in other paths to get competitive gear that does not necessarily involve group gameplay, something that you can work towards and get better gear in a slower pace.

You can PUG keys , you can pug heroic. The only thing left is mythic raids which you don’t need for gear if you get your weekly 226.

Exactly!! And I even said so in my next reply to you. OP isn’t doing “mythic and high m+ you dont even have lfr keys or any keys done” either, so why does he need the AotC Raid level gear??

I also specifically said that Raiders max out as well and don’t quit the game, so you’re argument Wall=Quitting is incorrect.

My logic is that you should be rewarded for the content you do and the effort required for that content.

I congratulate you on completing the twisting corridors. Which has nothing to do with the gear you are wearing but to do with accumulating the correct anima powers to overcome the difficulties that the corridors presents. I dont think you deserve a ilvl 226 piece of gear for it thou as the point of the twisiting corridors is not to gear you but to offer quality of life improvements and cosmetic’s.

Ok, and I don’t think you deserve 226 gear for mythic raiding. The point is for the challenge, right? So make more puddles on the ground, and there’s your challenge. And if you think TC 8 is just ‘hey you lucked out on powers’, then you’ve got a screw loose.

If solo players had good gear you’d never even know. It wouldn’t affect you in the least, so what do you care?

The fact of the matter is, if solo content requires gear upgrades to play and progress, and it does, then it should reward those upgrades.

I get all my gear solo, and nobody can or ever will carry me to get it. Why shouldn’t I get whatever gear I can earn? You aren’t special for grouping. It isn’t even really harder content, and everyone knows that you can be carried to titles, and mounts, and gear, with no skill or effort at all required.
