Solo (mostly) wow is for me now and that’s okay

So I’m not quitting wow, nobody cares anyways right? But I have found a different spot in TWW and I’m comfortable with it, enjoying it actually.

Also I am not saying people in my situation can’t do high keys and mythic raids it’s very possible.

But for me, between work, spending time with the wife, and the kids randomly coming out of nowhere with “I forgot I need this for school tomorrow,” at 9 pm I just don’t want to commit to any schedule or even commit to sitting on wow for an hour uninterrupted.

Delves are so great, I can hop in whenever I want regardless of who’s in. I can be at one within a minute no waiting for invites or flying to dungeons then summoning people. And if something comes up 10 minutes in I can wander away and come back without ruining anyone else’s night. My gear is way beyond what I need to farm older stuff which is one of my favorite things to do now as well.

Anyone else with me, anyone else make this change lately or maybe even before TWW?

Delves are great. I can go to the toilet in the middle of it without feeling bad that I am holding the group behind or worrying that the group kicks or runs ahead of me.

delves are the reason i came back.

I made the change when DF S4 pushed me out of M+. They completely cut the casual and fun (to me) part of M+ out and left an extremely competitive and sweaty mode I have zero interest in touching.

Delves are one of the all time best things to ever happen to wow.

While possible it’s usually not likely.

They finally caved to people asking for qued m zeros by readjusting everything and it ended up being hated.

delves were fun for all of one week for me, if that lol. i’m hoping they expand the follower to more dungeons and delves themselves so it can be fun to play as a healer.

Delves are relaxing to play, since you can take them at your own speed. I’d rather run delves than LFG/LFR, let alone M+. It doesn’t feel like you’re constantly racing against a clock, which really brings back that old school gaming feel.

You mean heroic dungeons now being “old M0 level”?

That was the claim and maybe it happened briefly but right now heroics are still even more of a faceroll than M0 ever was imo

Now heroics are a faceroll and M0 feels similar to the old M4 or 5 but without the timer which is easy enough but that’s still a big jump. I’ve done keys up to like the old +14 or 15 so I feel comfortable in them but it just isn’t for me now

Same for me. After 12 years!

Exactly.

Objectively the difficulty gap between heroic dungeon and M0 is absolutely MASSIVE. I’d say it’s the single biggest difficulty spikes (from 1 level to the next) in the entire game.

I did 14s in the old system. They were a grab bag. Some were super smooth and others were absolutely terrible. I’m with you on that. I’m not in the mood to be a tryhard on wow anymore. It was fun for a bit but it absolutely causes me to burn out so quick.

Delves are alright. Less RNG/spammy would be nice. I’m not a fan of Delves and Mythic+ both providing vault slots despite it being a positive change. Would rather them compete for the same slots.

I’m also not a fan of how fast we Champion gear. Explorer, Adventurer, and Veteran are all useless now. M+ 0-6 are useless. Sure those demographics exists but not to the degree they should.

Overall I give Delves a 7/10. Positive experience but a little too repetitive when you’re doing them for vault slots/keys.

delves are great for IBS

With you 100%. Even started using the “Delver” title instead of “Hand of A’dal”. I don’t have time to raid anymore, hate the rushed through feeling of M+, and have an irregular schedule IRL…so yeah, Delves are it for me now. Everything else just seems too high maintenance. And yes, I’ve even paused in the middle of delves to bio-break, or get my pizza at the door, or even to grill a steak…with no repercussions.

Sorry, but I just had a flashback to the old machinama where the raid leader got one of them new bluetooth headsets and after a bio-break came back to the entire raid complimenting him on how good the range on it was…

Honestly, I have played this way for nearly the entire time (my 20th WoWiversary was back in Jan), aside from that time a friend got me into a casual raiding guild for Molten Core / Blackwing Lair back in vanilla. As soon as TBC launched, they raced to 70 to get ready for raids, and I politely left.

I do some queued content (like TW, anniversary Korrak’s Revenge, MoP Remix), but mainly on DPS classes. I almost queued for Draenor TW as a Holy Priest alt last night, but was concerned that his low level would somehow make the dungeon hard (which it probably wouldn’t, he’s 25 lol).

So I do story content, level alts, do mount/pet/transmog runs, and sometimes join my 8-year-old daughter while she does everything but play the game (she just got the hang of dynamic flight, and now that’s all she wants to do. lol). She has fun, though, running to the barber every day, changing transmogs, looking in the various buildings, flying to new places, etc, so I don’t mind that she’s not leveling. Okay, maybe I do a little, but don’t tell her that.

Sorry for the late reply I was diagnosing a water heater.

Yeah. They squished the mythic plus 2-10 by making 10s the new zeros and then making 2-4 “normal” and 5-9 “heroic”

I had a feeling it was a bad idea from the start.

Never change.

I don’t plan on it.

I’m sorry you don’t like facts.
