Solo Battlegrounds aka Blitz

It’s called Solo for a reason. Why can people queue with a healer for this? You really didn’t see that messing everything up? Ugh.

Keep queue times down by encouraging more healers to play it.

Players said “I’m a healer but I wont queue without at least one friend to peel for me” and Blizzard said “I got you fam”.

In unrelated news, immediately after that, boosing sites started selling Blitz carrys and pilots from low ratings to nearly the highest ratings possible depending on how deep your pockets are.

Duo Queue is the cancer of Blitz, and only the hypocrites who reach the highest ranks in group of two defend it and come here saying “the system is fine, surely you’re ignorant of what we’re talking about.” It unbalances and distorts a game that should be solely solo, and those of us who play RBG know that having two more people in sync/communicating while the other team isn’t is a huge advantage.

You have about as much of a chance being on the team with the premade as you do against the premade. Blitz is a slot machine with or without duo queue. Besides, it’s a social mmo. The game SHOULD encourage you to make friends. It makes the game 100x more fun https://youtu.be/mI470nITCWw

It should be solo queue but you do have a point… the nature of the beast of solo that until roughly 2.6 mmr its more down to teammate lottery then person skill.

Less you are a spec that can bully low mmr players like mw or sub

No, you have less chance of being on the premade. The premade team only has 6 spots available and the non premade team has 8 spots. If it’s random, you are more likely to be on the opposing side (57%)

I said you have ABOUT as much of a chance. It’s still close, assuming the match had a duo at all. And if it’s a premade vs a premade, it’s even. And the team with the premade is irrelevant if it has enough sand bags in it or bad classes/specs. Duo’s not as impactful as some people make it out to be. I made it to strategist queing solo and it still felt like a slot machine. Even at 2800 mmr.

Blitz to me is just bad anyway atm, im still in placement games but im not expecting improvement once im at 20 games . Currently 1 win 6 losses.

2 of them have been essentially GY stomps or 4/5 node captures because the make up/gear disparity of the teams is horrendous.

Other games I’ve been capturing 1 / 2 nodes consistently and my team are losing the other 3 or 2 (Battle of Gilneas) with bad damage or the healers are just astronomically different in skill level. Over it now.

How about supporting the community by playing RBG since you love playing with your friends?

Some lack the nescecary resolve or strength of mind to persevere

You can choose to not be one of them

Yeah I guess they do; but Im a bit over it with the 30 min wait times being thrown into 4 games in a row where the enemy has meta classes or out gears you ending in s***ty losses.

Just a waste of time at this point and may just cancel subscription and find another game to play instead

This is like the #1 reason I don’t heal BGs 99% of the time. The incredible lack of situational awareness is wild, I’ll tank 3 DPS until I run OOM and then someone will be like ‘healer?’ lolol

I do when I can.

Not everything is for everyone

It’s ok to not enjoy some content

I mostly ignored arena for years, I don’t like deathmatch, too one dimensional for me, but I’ve never not been happy for those who like it

Now we have what is, to me, the best content addition in the history of the game

If you don’t like it go do something else, fair good choice

It’s what I did for 17 years

Agreed.

The premise is awesome. The matchmaking questionable.

Questionable is probably fair

Myself, I think it is too complex a system to make perfect, and ‘generally working’ is the best we can hope for no matter how good the algorithm is, because it is sorting humans with all our own inherent chaos

I know I don’t play at the same level every game, Sometimes I’m focused, sometimes less so, I play different times of day and the player population changes a lot, multiply that across 16 players and it puts perfection out of reach

Pretty much this. I only bother healing anymore so I can game with my friend, I would just not do it at all otherwise.

Consequently I’m also doing fine as solo Shadow on two different toons with only a few weeks experience playing as one, so ‘blame duo queue on why I’m 43% WL with 700 games played’ is just the new boogey man people have created to blame their losses on.

When people can look at the ladder and see hundreds of people higher rated than they are, it’s goofy to assume you can’t make your gameplay experience better by just improving wherever you’re lacking.

It’s not a cop out to observe eight boosting sites that will sell you blitz rating. If these boosting sites are worth anything when you fight against them, It’s probably difficult. If I were a boosting company, I would have most of my employees piloting or carrying customers queuing at the same time of day, and then the team with more boosting employees that have customer characters with them would get the win in the case that we also had coworkers on the other team that can throw.

Of course, people can improve their own gameplay themselves. But after they’ve done that, if they’re still fighting rank one boosting services with people throwing on their team…What exactly would you like them to improve enough to matter?

When I heard about rated random bg’s, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to play it. But in one of the first games I played(I only heal in pvp), I had a blood death knight just literally pull me, out of the fight, the entire battleground.

I haven’t played it since. And don’t plan to.
