yea p3 is the only cap done right so far. lots of prebis or even bis in regular dungeons. emerald rep gear for alts or people who started late and r7 gear for pvpers. having all char progression gated by raid was the worst.
even the new stv rewards are competitive, the xbow vs the raid bow is such marginal gap for example.
p1 was the best, just a little too long. p2 had no content and lasted too long. p3 ruined the economy, killed off casual guilds, but had the best raid thus far. p4 will be just hardcore and zerg guilds left. sods not boring, just mismanaged and without direction
FRESH??? did someone say fresh? any fresh servers here??? fresh!!!
these fresh freaks are so weird. back in the private server hayday people would just hop from 1 new fresh private server to the next, trying to get a hit of nostalgia. I feel bad for them.
That’s wrong, at peak Classic had 630,000 raiders while peak SOD so far had 490,000 and has been dropping fast.
Classic has maintained more population than SOD peak for 5 years, and spiked over 30% higher than SOD 3 years into its lifecycle.
Hopefully fresh cycles will complement era soon to serve the nearly 150,000 players still on WotLK (compared to around the same number after only 6 months of SOD).
Look at the dates. The 626k Was for Wrath Classic. (11/2022)
Vanilla Classic had a one week spike to 490k, but aside from that outlier, it hovered just over 400k.
And it didn’t have competition with any other versions of Classic…such as SoD does in Era and Hardcore.
It also was released alongside BfA (one of the worst retail expansions) and was still in Vanilla when Shadowlands completely bombed without seeing a significant spike. (SoD had to compete with “one of the best retail expansions in a decade.”)
