Please add transmog in seasons of discovery, maybe add a toggle in the options, like “show original gear” for those that dislike transmog for whatever reason.
I would also love retail character/mob models, with a similar toggle mentioned above.

That’s fine, that’s why I requested the option to toggle it off also.
There’s no dye system in this game, I don’t understand why people like running around looking like clowns, with their mismatched sets, but to each their own.

transmog is the reason i quit wow. its the worst decision they ever made. having a crappy weapon and being able to change it into something cool you did 5 expacs ago is so bad for the game.
if someone has crap gear, they should look like it, its part of visual hierarchy and what makes some items coveted. when i was a brand new player, seeing someone in full tier 3 made me want to devote my time to the game and be like that guy someday. i lost 90% of my interest in gear once i saw a boosted character in full greens using full cool sunwell gear just because he could solo it at level 100. saddest thing ever.
i hope they never add transmog to this version of the game.
now dyes on the other hand are a whole different story.
if each profession could slightly alter the colors of gear so you could actually make a decent looking set (chromatic pink boots come to mind) using materials and things that miners and herbalist could gather for example, then that could be cool and more in line with classic.

Absolutely not. I want to be able to see people’s real gear, see who has the best stuff, go up and inspect and salivate over gear, etc. This is a core social element of classic. Keep out these retail feautres that ruin the mmo aspect of WoW.

They do, you glance at their HP. You gain as much or more information from that as you got looking at their gears appearance. Also much better way to assess people at a distance.
Outdated TBC gear doesn’t make you look that special though. I could see an argument for only unlocking certain appearances based on achievements earned while it was present content instead of farming old raids for looks and using time-walking as the only way to get them if you didn’t play the original, but it’s not really that big of a deal.
Transmog was great. Everyone used to always look the same. A lot of BiS gear didn’t match and people were ugly and mismatched. Now people have more individual looks. Transmog was probably one of the best features ever added to the game. I don’t expect it in SoD though.

Exactly, I think what I proposed would make everyone happy. I expected most people on this forum to be against it, but I doubt their views reflect the majority, thus optional toggle win win.

You know, I’ve heard this brought up several times they can do it client-side. I’m not convinced that they can.
I mean enough. People have complained about this type of thing. If they really could turn off client side after 15 Years and it’s still not in I just have a feeling

Ff14 Doesn’t do that type of thing now granted they all work differently but still gw2 Doesn’t do that client-side either. So I not so convinced that it’s just as easy as a flip of a switch.
Personally, I also would enjoy not having to look like a clown lost in a paint factory.
It’s a purely cosmetic change so I don’t think it would really dip into “too much like retail” territory.

No transmog in SoD please.
Don’t worry, me and others will look like clowns with you together. We can put on a skit for others to enjoy! 
On a positive note, we’ve already seen that new gear is introduced in BFD raid, so hopefully we’ll have more cool gear options in future phases/end game raids, tier sets, profession items, etc.

I view the SoD servers as being “Raw” battle grounds without added all the appearance foo foo.
Just a bit of clarification. I don’t want to see transmoging just for the hell of it… I do still want the transmog ability in Cataclysm.
Personally I would prefer them to stay away from tmog and updated models. If they did put them in with a toggle it wouldn’t be the end of the world but if I had a vote on it, I’d vote no.
