SoD Starting Without GDKP

Would phase 1 would have been nearly as popular if the GDKP ban had been announced prior to SoD release?

I personally know I wouldn’t have even started had the ban been known before hand, primarily due to what happens when progression ends and players who raid log don’t log on anymore. Would players who opted out, opt in though with this ban being fully accepted since the inception?

Elron, is that you?

It’s not but I understand your disdain for a game mode you don’t do well at.

Elron confirmed.

The vast majority of players who join GDKPs do so with the intention of making gold. Not spending it.

Confirm that.

Sounds like fresh realms, and no mention of a GDKP ban.

Wonder why? Also, zero new content coming for SoD. It’s going to die, fast.

It was funnish while it lasted. See yall on the fresh GDKP enabled servers!

Edit: Nevermind, guess I’m taking a WoW break. Atleast they let us know ahead of time.

GDKP Policy

In line with our policy enacted on Season of Discovery realms in NA and EU, we will not allow gold dragon kill point (GDKP) runs in Anniversary realms in the NA and EU regions.

Note: This policy will not be implemented in regions outside of NA and EU at this time, though we reserve the right to change this.

While we understand that there are some benefits for those who find this a convenient way to gain gear, we also recognize that there are concerns surrounding GDKP eroding traditional guild and social structures that are a part of the spirit of the game. Player feedback in Season of Discovery realms in NA and EU has largely been positive about this change, and it aligns with our internal findings.

We will continue to monitor feedback about this topic closely, and we may make adjustments to this policy in the future.

We’re excited for the launch of Anniversary realms. Thank you, as always, for your support, and we’ll see you in Azeroth on November 21 at 2:00 p.m. PST!

Sincerely,

The WoW Classic Team

yes most people came for the new take on the content. gdkp was never the issue with player retention. The population decline outside of specifically phase 3 fubar was just the normal churn. modern experience in gaming is like 80% player drop off in the first 3 months outside the rare bandwagon game.

From what i’ve seen of vanilla pservers it’s the natural progression of FRESH. Players tend to drop off massively by ZG-AQ~

Cya kid! Stay in era, the realms yall already ruined with gdkp!

Also did you even play phase 1 of SoD? There was barely any GDKP at all going on

Yup. Somehow the game wasn’t in shambles with it existing.

Almost like GDKP isn’t the problem but bots and cheating that plague the game instead.

GDKP and even RMT isn’t much of an issue unless there’s a great way to farm raw gold.

Maybe Elron can get a second account banned.

Says the 28 post Warlock…

I suppose you’re apart of their internal testing that will lead to the ultimate dumpster fire across all versions.

Yeah of course it wouldnt be a problem when youre level 25 lmao, nobody is gonna rmt for level 20 gear.

Not to mention blizzard literally gave you the reason they banned it, rmt wasnt the only factor.

They absolutely did. Are you joking?

Tell us you only know a surface amount about the game without telling us you only know a surface amount about the game.

The really funny part is that I had a suspicion that was one of your alts Trollron. Good you finally cleared that up for us.

Really like the threads where you had conversations with yourself.
