SoD Raiding is Hilariously Toxic

Here’s a basic example of a recruitment message to do a LEVEL 40 RAID IN SOD:

LF BACKUP DPS FOR GNOMER MUST HAVE:

6/6 XP
FULL PROF
FULL BIS
CONSUMABLES
WORLD BUFFS
ADD ONS
MASTER’S DEGREE IN GAME THEORY
PHD IN PURE MATHEMATICS
FIRM UNDERSTANDING OF GEOMETRIC VECTOR SUMMING
MYTHIC LOGS FROM RETAIL
FULL ANCESTRY DNA TREE LINK
215LB BENCH PRESS

PST WITH YOUR MATHEMATICS THESIS SUMMARY AND ANCESTRY LINK

And then everyone stands still spamming 4 buttons for a LEVEL 40 RAID.

It’s ridiculous. If you aren’t lucky enough to get into a really nice, fun guild a lot of endgame content is gatekept from you. Just wait until we hit 60.

Its almost as if you havent played WoW for the last 10 years. Its meta buddy, either try and find a decent guild (yes, I know it aint easy) or start ur own raids. Make friends and communicate to do it again the following lock out. Then you can raid log like 80% of wow players do now a day.

I feel like it`s always been that way, gs, parses or whatever, people will pick and choose who to play with and that’s fine.

I apply to those anyway and usually get in.

Yeah, it’s the meta, that’s exactly my point. It’s harmful to the game. You shouldn’t have to go through a job interview to get into a Gnomer group.

There is 100% nothing Blizzard can do about it. Its this generation of players. They need to get loot instantly and go play fortnite.

This is a player generated problem, not a SoD generated problem.

Go find a guild. Or start one.

Have you tried making your own gnomeregan group without all these requirements?

To those who complain about raid requirements, go start your own raid groups. The end, problem solved. You can now let any casual Andy tag along and get carried for free loot. You choose to not be in a raiding guild, you choose not to start your own raid groups, you CHOOSE to beat your head against a wall and cry on the forums how it isn’t fair

I don’t run into these issues but then again I have a great guild that sets up all my raid comps every week I just have to sign up on the raid sheet.

That’s it? 215 is middle school numbers

It’s medium to high end players sick/bored of retail with nowhere to feed the addiction. Sure there is some minmax meta belief system as well, but it’s primarily dudes cosplaying as mythic raiders at the local park on sundays.

My favourite was a tank dropping our GY group because the collective GS was too low so we just ran 4 man without a tank and cleared it in 15 mins two rogues one lock one priest.

If everything’s so easy then form your own raid at the times you want and invite the people LFR

Do you even lift bro

What’s annoying is these requirements started being spammed like only a week after it started. Regular players BARELY have a chance LOL.

Good thing I have some friends and I start meme groups by myself. bit sloppy, but it feels good being the underdogs and gearing up together.

If I make a pug group I’m not tryna invite dead weight I don’t see a problem

Weird, I needed 2 pug dps for my guild raid last night. My message was:

“LF2 DPS for Gnomer. 6/6 Guild run, 2xSR>MS>OS.”

Is this the streamer word of the month or something?

Just join a guild - WoW was designed around guilds and raiding with friends. Everything in the game is more fun with a good guild.

That’s why old classic dungeons are better, you can’t pump dps as bosses always drop threats. And tanks can be very well geared and hard to kill, but they still can’t 100% hold threat. You have to coordinate tank and dps to make it work

so you can either quit, or form a guild with everyone that doesn’t want to do half of the stuff you said or prep for anything and not finish content or be stuck on it for 2+ hours XD

It’s crazy how the standard has gone from modest requirements, like maybe people want an AOTC link to get into pickup raids back in the day, to what they are now. It really is absurd and pathetic how over the top people go with content that a group of kindergarteners could clear with a little practice.
