SOD will not kill retail PvP because it does not fill the same competitive niche. Retail PvP is already dead and it will continue to bleed players to dedicated genre PvP games like LoL or Apex or even fortnite xd.
SOD is a fun mini quest distractions though.

Retail reversed homogenization in a big way in legion. Capabilities gained in cata/mop were reduced or removed. âClass fantasyâ was the mantra. They clearly wanted to bring things closer to the old game. Making casters stand still and cast, limiting DPS healing, reducing the amount of buttons. Things havenât drastically changed since then.

is it actually? I beta tested, thought rifts were super interesting - mostly for the forced public raid aspect⊠and liked the talent trees. Thought bgs were fun and intuitive but then never dropped wow lol.
