Having a fantastic time with the grinds, and the communities on the small servers are wonderful. Gold, gear, and meta grinds feel rewarding, worthwhile, and earned.

We agree on a lot of things, but we don’t agree that “SOD is really fun”. It’s just ok. STV is pretty boring now, especially since people have figured out how it works and now all the meta groups shine and all the “mediocre” classes get to scrounge for the scraps.

It’s doing exactly what it needs to: be a nice distraction while waiting for other things, like Cata Classic and Elden Ring DLC. Also just learned Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 (the originals, not the shoddy excuses for remakes) are being remastered next month
If they wanna remove discoverers delight and sleeping bags the game will be even better!
I think things like that are better for long term health. If new players see that they can catch up faster then they won’t be intimidated away from giving it a try.

Loving SoD haven’t been this engaged since classic, looking forward to maraudon, zul’farrak, and sunken temple! but I’m definitely not done with Gnomeregan by a long shot!
I’m even being tempted into some pvp content although I still don’t like the idea of going on a kill crazy rampage in STV.
I guess it’s okay and I keep playing for some reason.

SoD is great and a lot of fun. My friends and guildmates are enjoying it immensely. Everyone I talk to agrees it is the best version of wow in a long, long time if not ever. Blizz team needs to keep up the good work.
The whining on the forums is pretty standard and should be largely ignored. Whiners in SoD fall into 1 of 3 categories:
1: Mad about GDKP and not being able to RMT anymore
2: Believe their class should top meters/be the best in every fight of every instance.
3: Lost to some other class and therefore need to head to the forums to call for that class to be nerfed immediately.

Agreed! Loving this phase. Hunters are in a weird spot with Melee conquering, so I’m expecting THAT to be nerfed , but also simultaneously hoping for a ranged boost.
It’s just great playing classic with some chaos added on.
