There’s not much they can say, this is a real mess.
A rollback immediately after was the best option, but so much time has passed it makes it much worse.
If they delete all the SoD items, then all the exploiters get tons of gold for free as a reward for exploiting, and everyone else just gets screwed over.
If they want to identify the exploiters and try to undo transactions that’s damn near impossible and even if they can it’d take a lot of time.
It’s just not an easy fix for them, they should’ve rolled back already but now it’s just a massive mess.

Can we at least get an update? They could say “we don’t know” or give an estimate or something, super unprofessional (no fanboy defenders).

What happened to “very soon”? 3+ hours and counting now, this is bs. You make millions every month in subs but cant put out a product without screwing everything up? Not sure if dev team is out of their depth or under staffed. Either way this is a joke of a company

Yes so we aren’t sitting here when they said will be working SOON, think they should just have a world message update 1x an hour
They simply could have rolled it back when it happened, but they let this go on. Now its just flooded with so many things that have changed WoW Anniversary forever.

they simply do not care, they could shutdown servers during investigate but they didn’t which prove “they do not care about classic”
even if they removed all items, they probably will not take the gold from those who sold the 18silver boon for 4~6g each.

We NEED an update, with all the speculation about a roll back, however unlikely makes playing the game at any level pointless…

There a blue post where they say they can’t roll back characters or servers.
You’d think that they’d just get better at communication in general. Announcing things with enough reasonable heads up (I’d say at least two weeks). Along with situations where they literally have to turn off part of the game. Any reputable company with a service degradation generally has some type of regular cadence of updates. Alas, that is just not something we’ve had over the last 5-years with Blizzard and Classic.

Unfortunately, it’s probably a situation where the exploiters benefitted huge and everyone else gets screwed over.
I hope they do something to rectify it, but any kind of fix for that is a ton of work if it’s even possible for them to do.
