No, they just applied the same broken system to socketed gems in the start area.
Really discouraging that they fixed something related to it, but have nothing to say on the matter.

Think it’s just the whole putting gems back in your gear in the starting room part was fixed.

They probably had to push out this hotfix while they consider a more long-term solution.
But, they first had to stop some people from using “workarounds” to get a competitive advantage over other players.

So that means now there isn’t a workaround to their bugged system and mistakes they made? Yikes! That is truly a bad move on the Devs part. The Devs should be happy the players found a way around their mistake and actually fix the scaling issue. Unbelievable.
Blizzard is just incompetent and they need to get rid of this scaling junk before SL if they are going to save the expansion from certain doom.

The whole point of the game is to get a competitive advantage over other players it’s called an RPG. Players are supposed to have Gear advantages.
We need Gear to be Gear again so everything is transparent. If someone gets one shot they need more gear. Why does everyone in PvP have to suffer just so some noob doesn’t get 1 shot? It makes no sense to ruin PvP on a competitive level because of that.

Making gear work correctly isn’t a bug. No one asked for this mess or scaling.
These systems are the worst. They will be losing a lot of players over this.
Finding a way for sockets to not incorrectly scale up your gear isn’t a bug. It’s just countering the terrible coding the Devs implemented. The Devs are wrong and it’s the players job to let them know so they can do better.
We should be smacking the Devs over the head with a rolled up news paper saying bad!!! Bad!!! So they don’t keep doing stuff like this. They need to be corrected.

I’m glad this is patched and will be able to q again without worrying about someone queuing in with an 8% dmg boost and 8% bc of exploiting game mechanics
I know someone is going to reply to this with the tired “oh but it’s not an exploit we are just fixing blizzards mistake” nah b keep that nonsense to yourself
The socket system is bad but at least the playing field is equal after this bug fix

It figures they cannot even admit that they hotfixed this overnight.
Admitting that they fixed this would be admitting they screwed everyone in the first place with this socket handicap waste of time.

Exactly we just want the Devs to own up to their mistakes. Instead they have a hidden system and make hidden changes so they don’t have to admit when they are wrong.
This is absolutely atrocious and the Devs need to be held accountable for their bad decisions. If the Devs don’t get criticized for being wrong then nothing in this game will every change.

Good job on getting Gladiator in spite of having spent hours farming sockets that ended up being a hindrance to you. You clearly are better at Arena than you are at rhetoric. Cheers.
It is kind of interesting that I thought I was helping my team, I’m the only one fully Socketed, when I was in actually handicapping us slightly.

I clearly remember Tmpikaboo being very sad that his teammates were upset at him because he lacked sockets and they all thought he was holding them back. Little did they know that they lost because they were not as good as the other team, not because they were missing sockets.
Maybe the other team was missing even more sockets.
