Social Contract and what the people get away with

I think the Social Contract has its good purpose but I can see how people will still try to get away with trying to be toxic when it comes to running dungeons and how they’ll find a way to instigate people. I have been dealing with lots of toxicity from a lot of players that no where in my remote sense to call me nasty things like that.

I just hope one day Blizzard will find a way to make the game more accessible for all the player base so that we can all have fun in some way. It might be asking for a lot but I just think for example Shadowlands has a lot of stuff that makes it hard to play and therefore makes people rage at other people. I personally hope that there will be some type of adjustment as it is a game I love.

I think maybe try to not have so many unexpected mecahnics that you know you’re doing everything possible to avoid them and all the sudden there’s mechanics that happen that don’t even take 2 seconds to go off. Making lots of adds in a pack like for example the Urh, Vy and whatever other add it is (can’t remember the name) that it requires you to target a specific mob. Also, in keystones there tends to be the lack of DPS oujtput of certain classes (that I think) are hard to implement to be able to be substantial in a group setting when you’re doing your rotation as not everyone has the ability to work their magic to do substantial DPSZ

EDITED: I hope it’s more clear and I’m sorry for earlier original post

I think this Social Contract is complete nonsense and mostly just a tool for the woke devs to enforce their beliefs on the players…

That said, you really should have your coffee in the morning before trying to write your manifesto. I don’t think anyone is going to understand a word of what you are trying to get across here.

I have no idea what you are saying but literally nothing is changing, the “social contract” HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN THE GAME.

iT’S CALLED THE terms of service AND IT HAS EXISTED SINCE 2004. This is the exact same thing but without the legalese in it. There is ZERO reason for the social contract to be news AT ALL. And I can’t understand why everyone is at arms about it.

Right-click, report player for, language. Give a brief note on your problem with what they said.

You can please some of the people some of the time. You can’t please all the of the people all of the time.

The rage that has been happening in the game is happening everywhere. Lockdowns, mandates, job insecurity, politics, and other things happening in real life have made many people short-tempered, angry, and impatient.

Your issue seems to be with game mechanics rather than the Social Contract.

All the Social Contract is doing is to inform or remind players what the social rules are in the game. The rules haven’t changed. They are the same ones that existed in Vanilla.

I think the people underestimate how Blizzard’s design philosophy and systems influence player behaviors.

Sorry, but the social contract won’t mean anything until something changes.

Remember “tagging mobs” when you used to compete with other players to get kills/loot by tagging the mob before they could?

Or keys that deplete only for GL, while no one else has skin in the game?

Or bosses that only had limited in attempts in ToT (that wen’t well :man_facepalming:)

Or (even stretching a little) bad GV rng, whose only effective “strategy” is to do content you may no longer feel like doing well past your patience threshold and then being “nice” when you feel your time is being wasted some more?

TL;DR A frustrated and annoyed player base is less likely to be “nice”. So maybe take a look from a game design perspective as to what are the leading causes of these frustrations or annoyances.

Being polite is “woke” now?

You do realize you’ve already signed this “woke” contract every time the TOS changed and you had to click “accept” to play the game, right?

Didn’t read op but 100% agreed

Or disagree, depending on what was said

The “new” Godwin’s Law is how long it takes before someone claims something is “woke”. Third post in this thread. Players are weak.

I dunno, I think some of the devs are asleep and didnt just woke.

Oh wait, that word means something else, right? I’m so slow with these newfangled terms.

yes! haven’t you heard? if you’re not screaming cuss words at strangers constantly, that’s censorship and caving to the woke agenda

If the Social Contract is just the ToS and not a tool to bludgeon their political enemies who don’t buy into this pronoun/gender/queer nonsense they wouldn’t have needed a new Social Contract, because it would already be enforceable by the freakin ToS.

I honestly think it’s gotten worse in the last 2 weeks. I’ve had people who should just be happy they are IN THE GROUP running off at the mouth. Totally had a dude screaming at me to HOLD THREAT! when he got “one shotted” by a trap in Sanguine Depths several times. But Noooooo! they aren’t getting the carry they expect and want to complain.

there will be ban happy people licking their chops to ban people my advice is to turn off all chat except guild chat even whispers until the ban happiness calms down.

no one talks in dungeons you will be fine there.

people on these forums use the term “woke” to describe literally anything they don’t like or disagree with. it’s baffling

It’s the new “communism”

There is nothing new in the social contact. It is an attempt to force players to read the rules that already exist

I think it is really sad that people get so upset with social contract. It basically asks you to be a nice person. Why can’t you be one?
