There’s the rub. It’s the devs. They are the ones to blame. Because Lord knows we’ve been given feedback and Lord knows it’s all for naught.
Not really… what I’m looking at is a portal that has been in place for AT least 11 years and accessible to anyone who has at least the battle chest installed. And while I will admit I don’t have the number of those players inclusion is better than exclusion.
Edit: Also ‘that zone’… until this expansion was a level 55+ zone… So why are those players now being excluded from a decent way to access that zone?
You mean it wasn’t broken? But now we have to try and fix it anyway.
Ah you meant Wrath Dalaran’s CoT portal. My bad.
I tried Vanilla for about five months. Quit it, and came back for BC. I loved the BC-MOP era of game play.
5 thousand posts does not mean 5 thousand unique posters. It also doesn’t mean that everyone who posted in there is in favor of said post.
I think he’s being sarcastic because vanilla was horrible, honestly.
The argument people are using for the removal of the CoT portal is because the Sith portal exists. and that is what I’m trying to beat through some of the supporters heads… That from a game play logistics stand point something that has been in place for so long should have been included in the portal room at a minimum. That its complete removal is stupidity on Blizzards part.
The numbers obviously had enough meaning for the Blue to mention it
I ignored people saying “THE NUMBERS! WE ARE THOUSANDS STRONG” because, well, of course they are. You could take any issue in wow and there would, by default, be “thousands” of people for/against it regardless of whether a peep was posted on the forums about it.
There’s a thing you do with people who post irrelevant info, if you have self-control: you refute it once (maybe twice), and then you ignore it. Which is my recommendation.
Discuss the subject. Leave the imaginary numbers to the hysterical on either side.
So, in your world, “listening” to players means implementing everything that the players demand?
That would make for a truly awful game.
Ignore the problem?
Yeah, that’ll get you far.

I’m not talking from Blizz’s perspective. I’m talking about as Johnny Forumguy. There are certain users that aren’t really worth engaging with or encouraging, and they usually make it pretty evident from the get-go.
It’s obviously not a popular decision and that’s not just because ahem “24 people are really mad for thousands of posts”, ( /s ) because Blizzard only really responds on here to 1) memes or 2) really controversial stuff. But I don’t need “thousands” of people to back up my points. My points about the subject stand on their own merits. Ya dig?

When’s the last time something the player has recommended has been implemented?
On this note, most of the portals people have been mentioning are the ones in Legion Dalaran before the upcoming removal, which you have to be 100-110 to access or pay/ask a mage to port you to access. Anyone below that level range would still have to put in the travel to get to places. So in all honesty, we are looking at a small group there
The Dalaran Hearthstone is one of the first things you get in Legion, available in the intro quest from level 98 onward. On U.S. realms alone there are 3.6 million characters between 98 and 109; 7.2 million characters between 98 and 110; 11.5 million characters between 98 and 120.
Yes, bypassing Dalaran is nice. Losing portals for it is not, nor is it necessary. This is just a thing they decided to do. To spend time and resources doing, while at the same time not spending time or resources on a bevy of problems ranging from the subjective but widely perceived, to the flatly objective.
Lots of players believe that automated grouping tools have eroded the community aspect of the game, and that their continued existence is bad for the game.
Some players think flying has ruined world PvP forever.
Is Blizzard completely disregarding the playerbase by continuing to use LFD and LFR, and having flying available (obviously once pathfinder is completed)? There are people asking that changes be made, and it isn’t happening.
The game has grown to the point where you’re going to have a large number of people with conflicting opinions on how literally every single aspect of the game is handled. Unless literally every player is on the side of an issue, it’s a little disingenuous to claim that they’re ignoring everyone. Somebody is being listened to, and this time around it isn’t the people on this particular issue.

This is not about implementing its about taking away current game features. Many of which have been in the game for a long time. Many of which caused the game to grow, and keep a strong sub presence. Can you see the difference?

LFD and LFR does not erode the group community. The guilds that want to get together still get together and Dungeon and Raid together. Wpvpers will world PvP no matter if flying is there or not. They run around looking for people to fight. WPVP has never been huge in this game. Which is why the PVP servers where always low population.
At the end of the day, it’s their baby, they decide what goes and what stays and who is banned and who is allowed. I would say that my days of posting on this forum is coming to an end as well as my sub to this hot mess.
If a restaurant has an unruly customer making unreasonable “customer is always right!” demands, the owner will be glad to see the backside of him.
There was a restaurant near me (actually a small chain) that had that attitude that they were always right and the customer was always wrong. They did not allow any customization for their burgers. Period. Even it was something along like “please don’t put your house made ketchup on the burger because it has fish sauce and I have allergy issues with seafood.”
They went out of business. It turns out people don’t like being told how to enjoy their food.
