Same reason we don’t have Murlocs.
No.
lmao.

I can’t imagine how they’d make gear work on ogres. I feel like no matter how they did it, it would be a mess
just use the kul’tiran rig with ogre heads and ogre dances. remember the chris farley dance the ogres do that boomkins also do? thats male ogre dance. just gotta think up one for female ogres.
hehe. it would shock and amuse everyone. the memes would go intergalactic. lol
they can def make ogres smaller. we don’t need high king morgok’s running around…just make them fit through things
if a tauren can mount a horse, then ogres can be done
anyway, we need an ogre mound as their capital…Arathi Highlands sounds good to me!
I ask the same thing everyday. Should have got them in WoD.
It’s a magic doorway that moves with you so you only need 1 .
Now that I spoke It’s all up to me this stopped being a trolling of the alliance 3 hours ago it’s not Sunday anymore; Now I’m going to talk, we already have ogres and ogre women, If you remember well wow Shadowlands the suspicious npc of the house of the chosen ones are the ogres from the first war that died in azeroth; for there is no problem in developing an ogre.
In wow Shadowlands the head of the npc of the house of the chosen ones was hidden so that they do not say we already have ogres, but we do have ogres but blizzard does not want to release the ogres.
There are several reasons because they are controversial and before with the Lore there were many problems.
Although now that the lore is broken blizzard has to shrink and develop the ogres the little ogre boy says so winds of change are coming the ogres could be a playable race if blizz It will modify and develop the ogres of the house of the chosen of wow Shadowlands.
Well, we had some Dark Iron help us in the past. Like WoD.
Their Ruler has claim to the throne too.
Small ogres or smogres if you will.
I don’t think those that want Ogres would be happy if they shrunk.
They would still need entirly new models to be compatible with gear/transmog. As all the ones we see in SL and the such have the gear made into their models.
I think you do not know the npc models of the house of the chosen ones, they can wear all kinds of plate, leather, cloth and mesh clothing; although there is a video where it is shown
Edit: I had a hard time finding the clip I hope you believe that they exist
Only if they get more “uwu” than they currently are.
While I have no particular opposition to Ogres becoming playable, I do have concerns with what direction they’d be taken in, and these concerns might be mirrored on the dev side of things which would explain Blizzard’s extreme reluctance.
All technical issues aside, there’s a very real possibility that Ogres would simply wind up a ‘joke race’, akin to how Gnomes, Goblins, or Pandaren are viewed. A race that’s extremely one-note and utterly predictable, or viewed with few possibilities. Not a lot of stories can arise from characters like these that don’t wind up punchlines, and then you’d have yet another Horde race sidelined so the Orcs, BE, and Forsaken can hog the spotlight even more. Let alone the Alliance’s massive problem of ‘too many Humans’.
The storytellers aren’t willing to let races commonly seen as ‘jokes’ or ‘unheroic’ hold the spotlight in stories, whether in-game or cutscene, which greatly limits the impact and scope of a particular race. They need to be willing to let a race like Gnome or Pandaren or Goblin hold the reins of an expansion, and I don’t mean for a quest line or two. I mean, ‘this is the face of our expansion’. A constant, necessary presence. Like, Gallywix, Mekkatorque or Ji and Aysa (how the %^&# did DF drop the ball this hard; we’re going to an unknown land to build relations with its inhabitants, and we don’t send the two people BEST SUITED FOR DIPLOMACY?) should be the ‘mission command’ of the next excursion.
It’s honestly wild how, despite the goofy names and potato-shaped bodies, the Lalafell of XIV come of as far more capable, adaptable, and threatening than their equivalents in WoW. But then, XIV doesn’t have the Lalafell exist solely as jokes and tropes, either.
100% agree, even though doing nice things for their customers is like cryptonite to Blizzard. I would love to play an Ogre shadow priest or shaman.
There is the scale issue though. Many of the indoor areas aren’t designed to accommodate ogres. It could still be done but it wouldn’t be pretty seeing their heads (and probably their shoulders) clip through doorways.
Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll She-Hulk-ify the wamen ogres.
the whole game has been caricatures and tongue-in-cheek jabs at the fantasy genre. ogres fit right in.
Which on its surface is fine, but it’s undeniable that there are ‘protagonist’ races and there are ‘joke’ races even when you look at it through such a lens.
I’m not asking that the world suddenly go grimdark and colorless, far from it. I’m asking that a race other than the Big 3 (Elves, Humans (undead or otherwise), and Orcs) be given the lion’s share of the screentime in an expansion.
Likely because they have pea-brains (no offense to peas which are delicious and likely exponentially smarter), no attention span whatsoever, and it would require Blizzard to write specific code reflecting that, i.e. their lack of any measurable brain function, they’d only have a single fighting skill: SMASH with no guarantee of actually hitting the target even if said target was standing still, and never be able to finish a quest that required multi-worded directions.
Granted, due to all of that, they’d likely be the most difficult race to play.
pandas having screentime is fine with me. i miss lorewalker cho. ogres having screentime is fine with me, also. i wouldnt mind screentime for any race. it would be nice if allied races were further developed also. we still dont know how new void elves are made. were there even velf kids during orphan week? lol how we make new kids? no idea.
