So Why Don't We Have Ogres?

i always liked the dichotomy of the intelligent ogres in blades edge. i’d like to think we could get them as playable, and they have expanded to being more than int classes.

oh dune fan.

Vrykul for Alliance, Ogres for the Horde. Since Metzen is coming back and he put Vikings into so much of just about everything involving Blizzard stuff. All over StarCraft there are Viking references. First ever Blizzard game was The Lost Vikings. Would be a great fit. And it would be two giant races as well.

Not all ogres be dumdums. Some are smart enough to be shamans, priests, or mages.

I stand corrected. Thank you!

Yeah, but they literally need two heads to get that level of thinking power.

Jump on large mount.

Try and ride through a normal sized door.

That’s why no Ogres

That, and they smell.

Honestly? Because they’re ugly as heck. I suspect the effort to make them would be wasted due to only a tiny portion of the player base using them.

Now, if you introduced a ‘buff as heck’ version of ogres? E.g. the Vrykul for the horde? Now that would be popular. As an example, I suspect if you based the race on the thick/jacked version of the male and female guards in Maldraxxas that race would be very popular.

They’re called Orcs.

People want Ogres because they’re different. Fat. Monstrous. Why even add Ogres if you’re designing them for people that don’t want Ogres?

I’m fairly certain everyone in WoW can smell their own butt while standing.

Orcs are small. People want huge giants IMO. If you make an ugly race? (And I mean REALLY ugly like current ogres are) barely anyone is going to touch them. Given how the most popular races are the blood/void elves followed by humans, night elves etc.

And Gnomes are huge.

the average ogre height for players might be the ones in brackenwall village but thats just me take a tauren and zandalari there to compare without using size altering potions

this right here side by side is a player character Zandalari model next to an ogre

and here in my garrison next to guh without any size altering potions its pretty much the same

Ogres should come with a racial that allows them to shrink to go indoors. Some kind of goblin invention that your character, “acquires,” during the introduction quest.

they don’t need to shrink to compensate for human or gnomish or goblin made doors they’re never going to go into because there isn’t any loot inside worth taking

literally the ogre toy with the vrykul horn and i still stand taller than a tauren and i can fit through doors this size nonsense holds no water its just an excuse to refuse the race as a whole
