Just curious why we couldn’t just boost these races? its not like theres anyone to level them with anyway due to the boosting crusade
Because it was known to be in very high demand (Draenei Shaman/BE Paladin), so it could be considered more, “P2W”, and it was considered, “TBC content” so they didn’t want to include it.
Including boosts in the first place though was the mistake, so at this point unlocking it is whatever.
Truuuueee, since its already messed up might as well just unlock BE/Draenei boosts in Phase 2
so they get to experience the game as intended.
Can you imagine the REEEEEEE posts from the people who already used their boost if this happens? Yikes! Blizz should just hold off on Belf and Draenei boosts until WotLK pre-patch.
I’d boost a Dranei tomorrow if they allowed it. Do you like money blizzard?
They should let people Boost Draenei, but not Blood Elves.
Activivendi is saving that for a Christmas release, to boost their Q1 2022 report.
Hoe! Hoe! Hoe!
IMO it was purely because there were starting zones for them, it would have been dumb as hell to let them boost and ignore the starting zones.
Because they didn’t exist during WoW Classic (Vanilla). That’s the only reason.
Because Blizzard knew that many people would be appalled by the boost, because it took a huge dump on their stated goal of authenticity. But they wanted to do it anyway because of the money.
So their lawyers and PR people got together, and said, hey, how do we spin this to soften the outrage, so we don’t look like the lying, money grubbing hypocrites that we are? And they decided… hey, we’ll tell them that TBC now starts with the new content introduced in that expansion. So anything from vanilla is okay to skip (if you pay us).
But wait, the starting zones of the new races is new content, so they were like, oh shiite, how do we make this fly? So they excluded those races from the boost. And they also limited the boost to one character per account, and they gave them awful starting gear, so it didn’t look quite so pay-to-win-like.
Wrong direction. You don’t say “Oh well let’s just burn the hold building down because the kitchen caught fire”.
Why would you unless you wanted to be a Shaman? They are worse for every class than the other options.
Aesthetics.
B-b-b-but what about the META sweatlords?
I made it work just fine on my Blood Elf Mage. A lot of solo questing, and a couple dozen dungeons like everyone else I had to put a tiny bit more work into doing.
Dranei and bloodelves can level up in other starting zones if they wish.
So let them boost then? Is that your point?
They obviously wanted to limit the damage boosting would do to low level brackets. It ultimately did not matter. Being able to boost the original races was already bad enough to destroy what little life classic had left in it.
Why they don’t allow new races to boost at this point is beyond me. The damage is already done. Classic is dead.
Blizzard locked them to make it seem like they aren’t ruining the ‘content’ even though those races areas last only 1-20.
The decision made the game worse than just FFA boosting. Alliance can’t find heals and shamans for groups and raids and horde finds little tanks as people aren’t playing paladins.
80% of alliance lfg chat is lf healer and 95% of guild lfm is lf shamans resto or ele spec. I often find 25man raids with only shaman, it just sucks shamans are such a strong raid force and playing any melee without windfury / lust feels horrible.
