So who does Blizzard really listen too

Thanks for the info about Richard Garriott and that well thought out post. It’s always funny how easy people think game development should be. I’m no game dev but I am a software dev and when I see people say the Classic team should “just” make Classic+, I roll my eyes. Like, that’s the hardest, riskiest, and last choice for a company considering rereleases.

I wouldnt doubt they just talk into the mirror. Look… this guy/gal gets me and agrees with everything. We got such a good community.

They listen to Twitter.

A similar quality to hard drugs or any other addiction. Your body certainly will want it. The longer term harm is why you avoid it.

I liken RDF to this, in a way, inside the game. RDF is just one of the many subtle frictions they kept removing from the game until the game was eventually boring and masses of people lost interest quickly. The entire premise around this game are those little frictions, the little grinds, all the way up to make your numbers go up. And each expansion was seemingly some new way to chisel away at those frictions.

Traveling is just one those frictions. BC, flying mounts, Wotlk RDF, Cata LFR, etc, etc.

In my opinion, the teleporting and cross-realm aspects were a very dramatic shift for the game vs adding flying mounts.

Nightborne were much the same.

Nelves with shiny tatts, instead of the NPC models.

Like… WHYYYYYYY!!!

Also same faction BGs to help with queues, removing needing an arena team and using personal rating like retail, xp buffs to help people level.

The raised player caps and layering to stack mega realms are all done to essentially guarantee a healthy playerbase. It’s trying to solve the same problem cross realming the entire game retail already solved which is ensuring having others to play with.

These forums aren’t really representative of the WoW community as a whole anyways imo.

Might not be something most posting here want to hear, but we are a minority of WoW players. And a mostly negatively focused one at that. No one on these forums comes here for positive reasons. We come here to complain about the game, or each other, or to just wade through the muck and read about other people complaining about the game.

We are not a proper representation of WoW’s population as a whole, and frankly I’m kind of glad we aren’t. Toxic cesspool is all we are.

they do, otherwis ei wouldnt hav taken a 224 hour ban for saying that alot of players are weak minded

Thry are game developers they do what thry think is best. Judt because a customer demands something doesnt mean they are always right

Blizzard is a business, and business only listens to two groups: Management and Shareholders… Neither of them actually play video games. So as long as they get profits from shares or a paycheck, they don’t care what happens to the game.

A select few of the streamers and the private investors. I used to see 10x as many blue posts on these forums back when the old dev team was in charge.

they listen to their share holders. thats why retail is garbage. because people who dont even know what the game is are the ones in charge of what happens

FF14 can’t even fix the housing problem in the game, they change how you can buy a house but they then allocate 70% of the wards to free companies which they then reduce to about 60% of the wards, then they say they can’t add more wards because it’s impossible (blatant lie). FF14 doesn’t even have the ability to attack from a mounted position which SHOULD dismount you, but doesn’t because they want you to push an extra button meanwhile you’re getting slapped pushing and waiting for an animation to end, guess what? You already lost a third of your health.

those are both minor things that 1 doesnt even effect you unless your one of the top 20% of the richest ppl in ff. and the second is such a minor inconvenience that i cant even believe you brought it up. i played for 6 months and the demounting thing only bothered me for like a week. if those are your arguments you have no argurement

You haven’t played either game long enough :), I have gil in the game and the reason why I mentioned what I mentioned is because they’re simple fixes that they’re too lazy to fix.

They can easily add more wards, but they choose not to because “limitations” and “its impossible” aka too much damn effort (even though they can add an entirely new housing district for ishgard, change how you purchase a house then limit the amount of actual wards to limit an already limited supply of houses from private buyers to free companies) As for the mounting aspect, it’s an easy change, literally every MMORPG has dismount on pressing an ability, why be the stupid and odd outlier?

You can’t listen the community as a whole because the community is always split and don’t think about consequences.

they only listen to the sound of money

These are the chaos months. Pre microsoft flipping the board over like an angry child. Accumulate data, piss of the current mods, break the current.
