So who does Blizzard really listen too

actually they do. but i know that im getting a flag and possibly another ban but what the hell

After many exchanges with a few gms and reading the “social contract”.

  • Blizzard will listen to people who do not wish to defend their point or mostly that will
defend their point with law suit threats or financial loss
  • Blizzard will listen to people who express their feelings over what happens in the game
in a polite and submissive manner.
  • Blizzard will listen to people who are emotionnaly fragile and unable to have some form of self control over their feelings.
  • Blizzard will listen to peopel with weak self esteem and that will ask for their weakness
to be cared for in order to not hurt their feelings and their self esteem
  • Blizzard will listen to those who do not fight back when insulted, spat on, disrespected
or that are mature enough to understand they wont be listened to because their
feelings are not hurt, aka they have attained a level of emotionnal maturity that surpasses that of the average player in this game.
  • Blizzard will consider that you are toxic and confrontational if you stand your grounds and defend your opinion even with proofs

In short blizzard will only listen to players and forum members who are either trolls, or with the emotionnal development of a 6 years old. IYKYN.

i spoke a while with a few gms after i posted a nuclear bomb on the emotionnal brittleness of the people in the forums and in game… and my conclusion is that blizzard is only pampering their player base the same way we pamper our kids or other peoples kids even if they are grown adults , if you priorise the fact they that must cherish their feelings like a kid when they are in their mids 20s to late 50s… instead of focusing on the game and how to make the best of their game time like a grow adult would…

i said what i said, i got my pop corn and beer ready.

I dunno why that would get flagged and you get banned for anyways.

peopel dont like it when we dont think like them

This is actually wrong.

People never like anything when we act like humans.

An expansion that stays around until its conclusion is a great success. If wrath doesn’t decline until ICC during Ruby Sanctum, that would make this a very successful launch in classic.

I agree that will likely happen.

not act, be human.
theres a line between being human, being an idiot and infantilization. carrying a part of who you are in a game is human reflex, being toxic is a personnal choice and being constantly offended emotionnlay because people do not think act or answer you in a way that you see fit 24/7 are all totally different things.

  • being human no one care
  • being toxic is a standard on here and gets you the most attention, proven by the 200 millions posts where all you see are peopel trolling
  • being emotionnally soft is also a thing, people get offended by everything that doesnt go their way and will complain or threaten blizzard, make in game bans on players who do not agreee to what they want via discord <---- being emotionnaly weak and psychologicly weak to opposing point of views. thats where you find those who have been thaught to value their feelings instead of valueing the importance of those around you an to build emotionnal toughness.

I don’t think they even open these forums.

Why would anyone listen to whining entitled forum trolls?

She tried to say Classic and retail are the same game, so her voice should count as part of the long term active playerbase, and shes angry it seems like it isnt

This writes itself man

@Sourscream you are very right. Soliciting game design advice from people with near 0 game design knowledge is a recipe for failure. The flip side is to try and play the “customer providing feedback” card. And despite the famous saying, the customer most certainly is NOT always right.

The psychology of game design is layered with complexity and nuance. And even “experts” in the field with a proven track record of popular, successful games have some flops. I always think about Richard Garriott when this conversation comes up. He invented and wrote Ultima, the first real RPG. That led to Ultima Online, the first MMO. His company, Origin Systems, made such legendary titles as Wing Commander, System Shock, and Longbow. There for about 5 years origin could do no wrong! They were at the top of the hill.

Then after 2 decades of experience creating some of THE best games in history…Garriott released Tabula Rasa, a space-oriented MMO. And it was a complete disaster. Granted some of the responsibility for that lies with NCSoft. But, the point stands. Sometimes even the best, most experienced game designers get it wrong. And, with a game like WoW with such a MASSIVE appeal to a wide WIDE audience, every time you make a change that makes 1 group of players happy, you piss off 3 other groups. It’s a tough position to be in.

That said, Blizzard has made some monumentally bad design and business decisions over the years in the hunt for more dollars. In almost every case, this has been short-sighted management just chasing short-term greenbacks. If they had taken the OPPOSITE approach in these cases the game and the company would be in a much stronger position. But…c’est la vie…

So, at the end of it all, it’s VERY hard to know which players actually have a clue and which ones are idiots. AND…it’s even more difficult to have any idea of how many other players share the opinion expressed by that person. And to further complicate matters, just because a players says they want something doesn’t mean it’s in the long-term best interests of the game. And people always seem to lose sight of this basic condition in game design.

Blizzard doesn’t listen to the players. They skim the comments looking for validation or wording to sell their decisions.

Only when they see major blowback from those decisions do they listen. But that’s not listening to the players. That’s listening to the stockholders.

I agree with this a million times over. I tend to try not to get bogged down on what the game should would or can do, I enjoy the game currently and im gonna advocate for continuing to enjoy it. Personally for me thats phase 1 normals phase 3 heroics. Id enjoy that game just fine. bc this is a game, and im not trying to be a philospher about game design.

Go brose the Community Council forums… thats who they listen to… literally the most cringe-out-of-touch group of people I have ever had the pleasure of seeing… and that goes for the anti-rdf kids on these forums.

I played it last night, how is it wrong

Right and everything else we’ve gotten have been stellar ideas…

1 and 2 selects a gender, as with most RPGs

I clicked 1 and 2, and it gave me different body types in shape. It did not change my sex

legit sitting in character creation right now, don’t know what to tell you

This is the character screen and it shows what body 1 and 2 are clearly
