So who does Blizzard really listen too

They will still pay to be here without RDF. Blizzard won’t lose anything. Look at the activity on these forums. All those people are still paying. That’s all that matters.

I disagree. They can influence player interest with their choices. Leaving the convenience features out of the game will probably result in a healthier run.

They said the same thing for shadowlands and look how that turned out. They didn’t actually listen to anyone until the 9.2 patch. They are run by sociopaths that will lie to your face to get what they want.

It’s a shame the base game is so good and no other mmo can compare.

A few weeks/months after icc, wrath will be a ghost town regardless of what they do. It’s just the nature of the beast.

Agreed. I cant wrap my mind around why Blizzard doesnt adopt the OSRS style of community votes for changes if they are so adamant on making changes in the name of community feedback.

Its borderline disingenuous.

They simply think they can do it better than the original devs. That’s what it seems like to me anyway.

Is this all your opinion or do you have data to back it up?

I responded to the part I quoted. That’s how forums work.

Listening does not require them to take actions you agree with. Providing conveniences and removing frictions in the game were community driven. Since the community overall is fractured on almost all topics, you must find yourself on the side they ignore.

Community is only one signal. They also make choices based on their resources, passions, and optimizing their teams like any other business.

/shrug

The community wanted a certain version of wrath. Some people wanted some specifics and others wanted different things. They listened to folks like me and we got a version we like. They were listening… They responded that it was driven by listening. Literally what they said. They don’t have to make all choices the same way.

That’s true NOW. What about four months from now? You’re severely underestimating how many people started playing this game during Wrath and were coming here looking for the same experience.

You mean like level boosts, making DK’s with no prerequisite, and queueing BGs from anywhere?

Blizz doing a bang up job so far.

I know I’m one of them. I was leveling without the RDF and once I hit like 60, they added it.

It took me months to level too because the addiction hadn’t set in yet :joy:

I responded to an opinion with opinion. You aren’t entitled to anything else.

They have so far!

Is this all your opinion or do you have data to back it up?

I didn’t specify between Retail or Classic. And honestly, we do not know the true numbers with Classic or Retail. So it is hard to speculate on whether Classic isn’t dying or is.

Yep, those are my opinions.

Kek

You cut out the part where I said it was my opinion. I made it clear that these are just my opinions. You were stating things as if they were facts.

Also, saying the game will eventually die once icc comes out isn’t really an opinion. The game will die eventually.

Sure, they may retain a few thousand but that is dead.

I did.

We know some numbers based on server saturation and them acknowledging what “saturation” numbers look like, especially compared to the infrastructure they had in 2008+. You don’t have to know the numbers to know it is not dying. …yet. They are having saturation issues. An ‘influx’ of players is the opposite of dying.

And every time we’ve had a race added we either get something that’s not the race we wanted or the offbrand wholesale version of that race. We have still yet to get Ogres in the Horde. But thank god we got Pandas, Foxes, Wholesale Night Elves, High Elves, Trolls who went to a chiropractor, and now fursuit dragons.

I agree!

No one knows but if the numbers shrink because the toxic players causing all this strife leave, that will actually be good for the community. The question is really whether the numbers fall enough that it matters to Blizz.

Wrath is a good enough game I have faith it will be wildly successful. The version they released is awesome. We’ll have to review in four months.

You invented some estimation I made. The only conjecture I have is that the unhappy players will keep paying Blizzard so they won’t reverse their decision.

Perhaps you don’t understand the definition of opinion:

noun

  1. a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

…apply the definition above

We’re not. Most classic players dont play retail. and vice versa.

Well, let me know when the game is not “World of Warcraft” please.

Their stock holders. That is all.
