Overhealing doesn’t cause threat.
MTs get spammed heal to stay topped off.
The majority of that diamond flask minute will cause zero effective healing and therefore zero threat.
The 1k +heal flask sets are neato burrito, but their raid application is non existent. It’s fun for soloing content or surprising someone in world wPvP.
Be honest. It’s not just a fun gimmick, it’s flat out broken for PvP. Starting every WSG/AB with a 1 minute HoT at 1k+ HP/5 is gamebreaking.
If there was a bugged item that reduced one class’ Major Healing Potion cooldown to 7 seconds for an entire minute, everyone would be up in arms and agree its a problem … but since half this game plays a warrior, you get comments like those in this thread desperately trying to protect their bug from the fix they know it should get.
I guess? For 1 minute every 6 minutes a warrior can time using diamond flask so that they don’t get caught in combat wearing heal gear and have something like 200 hps while fighting.
Pales in comparison to having healers in your premade. Really only matters in 1v1.
They’re pretty relevant considering that all that healing threat goes to the warrior. So for one minute every 6 minutes the warrior can generate a ton of AOE threat, as well as healing themselves.
With a item equip macro or addon it’s pretty simple to equip the healing items and the trinket pre-fight, use the trinket, then swap back to tanking gear and charge in. Smart warrior tanks will do this on every time the trinket is available.
Overheal doesn’t cause threat. That’s the crux of the issue. Outside of an easier time positioning off the pull, the healing from diamond flask doesn’t generate much threat at all.
If you’re taking damage then the healing does count. Of course, if your healers are keeping you healed all the way to the top all the time then the diamond flask healing is overheating and it doesn’t count. A smarter raid would leave the tank a bit down so the healing counts.
Of course, this shouldn’t happen on bosses which hit so hard that it would put the tank at risk to leave them at less then full. Rather, this is perfect for large trash pulls or bosses where an AOE threat mechanic would cause the most benefit.
It’s all about being a smarter raid and using the tools available.
Yes, which also makes thee extra threat less valuable because threat isn’t an issue on trash pulls. The coefficient on flask was neat and building heals sets for it is fun, but in raid application it really doesn’t make an impact over not using it.
If they do need this it isn’t rely a big deal. It’s most useful for farming and tbh just rollong a mage or lock is a better idea than a “healing set”. In pvp most of the “op” hot is wasted out of combat.
Your post actually shows the diamond flasks healing was intended… because you know, they patched items BEFORE diamond flask was in the game… That would mean they were aware of the heal stacking when they created the item.
I dont understand people who want fun things nerfed.
Even if Diamond Flask wasnt working the way it was intended, who the hell cares? Most Warriors dont have a full healing set. The ones who do dont even need it to clear raids, because they’ve already cleared raids without it in order to get that gear in the first place. The Warriors who use it in PvP still get stomped by Mages.
Throwing a fit about this fixes nothing, and just removes a fun little side project players can do it they feel like it. A side project that offers little practical reward in return for a great deal of time and effort.
Stun him. Slow him. Root him. Mortal Strike him. Run away from him. Fear him. Polymorph him. Iron Grenade him to get distance.
There are a million and one ways you can deal with Warriors healing themselves. None of them are difficult. None of them are unreasonable. Diamond Flask heals for a lot, but even with it a Warrior wont survive a focus-fire attack from multiple players for more than second or two longer than he normally would.
If you’re consistently losing BGs and duels to Warriors, its not because of Diamond Flask. Thats just your excuse for it. The absolute barest level of coordination can overcome it.
Feel free to keep whining about a non-issue that will never be changed, though.
What’s funny is that the heal stacked diamond flasking has extremely limited use cases where it’s both easy to swap gear back and forth and the healing/threat will matter. It nearly doesn’t matter that there’s a coefficient at all.
