Going from SoD back to Cata and seeing the 100% alliance and 100% horde servers still not merged is pretty mind boggling to me. Merge the PvP servers and put the faction restriction on for balance that you made for SoD, or make it where layers are horde / alliance balanced, with extra layers for the overpopulation.
Also on a separate note, why in Thrall’s name did you delete the PvP LFG tabs? Like, what are we paying you for? Especially given the current situation.
Ah yes, because you can really decide what server type you play on right now… Oh wait, pretty much all the PvP servers have turned PvE unless you’re a masochist and roll Horde Bene and Alliance Faerlina which I’m forced to do just to get some world pvp.
Was on nightslayer, didn’t notice an issue, though I quit part way through phase 2 and came back phase 4 to getting merged with another server. Either way I guarantee you that situation was healthier for the game than 100% of one faction.
People paid money because they were wanting mega servers and were talked into believing they were on dead servers that really weren’t that dead. Blizzard should have put a stop to it immediately the second one server went 100% of one faction, but they didn’t because they decided to roll in that character Xfer money. It really was a classic reliving of what happened in OG cata when they juked everyone into faction changing horde by nerfing Human racial into uselessness, just to undo it a month or so later.
?? I mean, I had a horde and alliance rogue on it in SoD phase 1, but okay? You referencing the bot issue, or did I quit and miss something that happened with it?
Oh right, anniversary, rip. Sorry I’ve played on a lot of different servers at this point. HC, HC era, retail (which has 8 servers in one or some crap), sod (which had a server merge), classic (which had a server merge, and I play on multiple servers), and classic anniversary. All gets jumbled at a certain point. Got a char to 52, and 46 before deciding I wasn’t masochistic enough for another playthrough in vanilla. Tbh kinda forgot anniversary existed lol.
I mean, I just kept spamming char creation and eventually got in on both factions on anniversary. Granted slightly annoying, but didn’t take too long.
Correct. I like having rogues on both factions for maximum trolling potential. Also can be good for making money via swapping goods back and forth via the goblin AH which you can’t do via a singular account even when faction restrictions are turned off, though the massive amount of sniper bots tends to discourage that aspect of it nowadays sadly. Stocked up on game tokens via gold before cata launched.
basically death knell for anyone getting partners cross server. They even said it was intentional on the EU forums, da heck blizz why? R u trying to kill pvp?
This is fine within reason. In an MMO if you allow for too much freedom of choice with things that run counter to the game’s cycles, you are degrading the game’s integrity. I’m all for emergent game cycles, but we’re talking about PvP servers all just suiciding into giant PvE servers. Open up free xfers to PvE servers if that’s what people want, but wrecking an aspect of WoW that the classic community seems to / seemed to have appreciated up until those xfers seems like poor design choice.
It has it’s pros and cons. Saying it’s the worst is laughable though. BFA hands down was the worst.
I’m a pvper, it’s what I do best. =p
Bro, you don’t think they know about this? You don’t think that was the whole point of the goblin auction house to begin with? I’ve been doing this type of thing since OG TBC, they aren’t going to take it away unless they add in the cross faction auctionhouse baseline like they did to retail. It isn’t some magical exploit, it was intentional design. Pretty mind boggling that you think it’s some kind of secret lol.
…? I’m advocating a PVP server, which you presumably selected, to have PVP on it. You picked what type of server you play on when you made your character, not me. It’s quite the opposite situation in fact. I picked a PVP server, and it very much is now just a PVE server, and you’re advocating to keep it something that it was never designated to be.
