So whats the line between proper representation and "pandering"

Fair enough. You didn’t really answer my question though. I asked if you thought the Egyptians were black. As in the architects behind the pyramids of Giza.
You’re the one who brought up race talking about white Jesus, by the way. It’s why I asked the question in the first place.

I think if you care about race so deeply that’s already the issue. It is a country in Africa that has been colonized by many people who you and someone else might seek adrenaline debating the contemporary race of for said African residents. Additionally Britain is not a phenotypical box of people if you weren’t aware, I bring up the absurdity of asking who is allowed to be represented in wow when a geographically afroasiatic man is played by a british actor. Those two locations are not the same.

If that were true, I wouldn’t have mixed kids. Why do you dance around things so much? Why don’t you just answer the question?

Comanche. Now that was a group of people not to be messed with, to say the least.

Well said.

how do you make a product with zero representation? Don’t you need to speak english (EU), japanese (Asiatic) , amharic (Afro), or any language of a country to even sell it to other humans.

So because it’s impossible not to represent people, why not do in the most comprehensive way possible.

The issue I have is I can’t make a female character that romances other female characters and gets to sit back and watch the sparks fly. Just adding a bunch of I’M GAY! characters or whatever doesn’t do much for me personally. If they end up being good characters then great that’s awesome.

What is proper representation? I don’t think there is some mathematical formula out there for this. My only answer is to the extent that art reflects real life I guess.

I’ve seen so many white-skinned gingers in WoW despite the multiracial demographic only being about 2% of earth combined, but no one complained white gingers we’re getting shoved down america’s throat. Just show what looks naturally like earth with no biases against representation of people who don’t look like you.

Those arent white males, those are dragons wearing party masks…

“The only time that the word ‘agenda’ is used without hate behind it is when our benevolent corporate overlords use it.”

I could say the same about you. This industry was fine for decades and no one who played them thought of them as political, it was just something to have fun with. Now everything is made into politics because people can’t help themselves in pushing ideology in everything.

Because lgbtq people are real and your god is not.

I don’t really see much representation this expansion… we have sindragosa as black in her visage form… other than that just a bunch of non straight people… which isn’t even diversity

The point is it wasn’t fine. Only representing straight, white people with men in leadership/powerful positions and women as the supporting character or damsel in distress was not fine.

I’m sorry you have such a problem with this, but the world has moved on.

Until about 60 years ago segregation of the races was legal. Would you have said that was “fine” as well? Would you have complained that desegregation was causing a lot of problems so they should have gone back to segregation?

Was the country “fine” when government policy promoted Redlining, thus preventing minorities from owning property in the same neighborhood as white people?

You all need to think a bit harder about what you’re saying when you complain about representation. When you complain about seeing non white, non straight people, you’re asking to continue the legacy of white supremacy that the rest of us are trying to leave behind in history books.

Yup. They’ll claim to support inclusion and representation, but strangely every instance of representation is pandering. Funny how that is.

I am noticing that we did actually see a lot of couples in the game that were straight before and nobody really spoke about them. Mr and Mrs Mann in Pandaria or the manastorms, or Ji and Asya, or Loti and Raal, or Rhonin and Vereesa.

Lots and lots of couples in WoW now that I think about it and a lot of quests/stories including those npcs relationships.

So to recap, you just presented a terrible argument and pre-strawmaned anyone that argues with you. F-

Sounds like it hit a bit close to home.

You know for all the complaints about having too much LGBTQ+ rep, people didn’t even bother to notice how many straight couples there were, let alone straight characters who are now single due to a past lore event.

I wonder how many people saying there was too much rep can tell me how many straight couples were in this expansion?

Dude, look at what you are typing. You literally can’t help yourself just like I said, you are so neck deep in this stuff and are attempting to shame me into changing my mind by associating me with white supremacy.
