So what you guys think about this?

At this point i think boost and the mount are pretty much confirmed with the last thing wowhead posted, so what you guys think about it?

Sounds great. It is nice to see that Blizzard believes in TBC Classic so much that they want to spend time and resources to market it and make a Collectors Edition.

I will be pre-ordering the minute it is available.

Its just a mount, I dont see how anyone could be the tiniest bit upset about it.

Oh but you know they will.

Faux Outrage! Must be mad! Must find something to complain about!

yeah so far it’s just a cosmetic thing, i will buy it for sure but i still dont get why people get so mad about it, like this will not change anything

Funny thing is Original TBC had a Collector’s Edition with cosmetic items. If anything they should love this, it is in keeping with the Original TBC Launch!

that’s true

If the mount is cash shop only, then yeah, pretty bad.

What cash shop? I still keep seeing this come up. What cash shop? Seriously where did this fake news come from. There has been no cash shop announced for TBC Classic, this is a Collector’s Edition purchase.

I mean we kind of already have a cash shop, but the only thing in it is the Character Transfer.

That is more of in-game services though. This cash shop thing is just silly fake news.

Eh, its all kind of perspective. Cash shop is anything you can spend cash on from my point of view, whether its a mount, or a character transfer, or a token. That functionality already exists, and I could care less what they add to it.

Could not care less about either one.
We still do not know exactly what the mount is for. be it for sale in a shop,
or the mount that comes with a edition of the game. I dont care if its
either one.

As for the boost. I wont buy it. But I couldnt care less if someone else does.
When everyone is lvl 70. No one is going to know, or even care, who bossted
and who didnt.

Heck, I give it less time, by the 3rd day everyone will have forgotten or not be able to tell.

It’s exactly what I asked for so I didn’t have to level a 4th character, also so my friend would come back without any hassle so it’s good boo

such a none story. every expansion has had a deluxe edition with extra’s. why should this be any different.

I think most people don’t care, I certainly don’t. While there are a few people that are angry about any change, there are more people by far probably happy with both. The mount is cosmetic and whether it be from a collectors edition, or as purchasable mount it wont matter, it wont be any different then riding around on a horse. As for the boost, Blizzard has been doing this on every xpac for ages, and it works out just fine, it also will have essentially no impact on TBC content and doesn’t really provide any type of meaningful advantage end game.

I don’t care about the mount. I’m so sick of mounts that I just pick one and use it all the time. I will more than likely get the frost wolf from AV.

As for boost well I’m using it on my shaman. I’m done playing lock I didn’t like it quit during phase 2 of classic. I should have listened to my gut and went mage. I just didn’t want to level for a 2nd time.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I never liked vanilla. To me it was always about the leveling. I hated pvps rank system and I felt pve was dull due to class design. All of that got fix in tbc. I only wanted it for tbc and here it is. I will be casual pvp. Maybe casual pve like phase 2 or 3. I had my fun with pve back then. Don’t feel a point now.

I am extremely confident that my opinion will be in the minority here and that is okay.

There was no boost for TBC so I am not very keen on the boost existing in the first place.
I am fundamentally against a boost since I, personally, feel more invested in a character that I have developed from the ground-up. I feel it creates a small disparity gap between the playerbase that can afford to boost and that which has no disposable income to use on gaming and may struggle just to pay for the subscription.

Despite all of that:
I am a Pro-booster. I do not want it removed from the game because I realize that it will draw in more players. And more players coming in helps the classic project as a whole. I am grateful for the boost and excited for the target demographic of players that will get to return for TBC that either did not like classic or for whatever other reason did not play it - and will get to now spend time in the TBC content with their friends.

I do fear how the boost will empower a community that already cripples the economy and ecology of the current classic servers - the bots and gold sellers. But that is honestly an entirely different discussion.

I do not mind the mount since it is purely aesthetic but it does leave me a little leery, knowing blizzard’s history - but this is also another discussion entirely that could be considered “it is a very slippery slope.”

The only thing I hope for, in order to appease both sides - are a new set of servers to be designated as “fresh” servers that do not have boosts, or cash shop conveniences on them.

Blizzard did not believe there would be enough demand for RP server designations. There were requests for this designation via the forums and Blizzard recanted their decision - forcing them to recognize that there was a demand for this server distinction.

I think it is fair to say that the demand exists - arguably even more prevalent than the demand for RP designations were early on. Even if they only spin up a few “fresh” servers in designated areas I feel this would be enough to guage the popularity of these servers and would please both sides.

My concern; however, is that Blizzard is a business. Some would say that blizzard is but a shell of the business it once was - with passion drained and only seeking profit now over customer satisfaction. I am not saying I subscribe to this belief, but I will say that this designation of server is less likely - by its very design to generate revenue above and beyond the baseline subscription. So would blizzard - even recognizing the demand still ignore the requests? Possibly.

I would personally even be willing to pay through a paywall to gain access to this type of server. I am sure there are others who feel this way - but that would be an entirely different discussion - AND it would likely leave the server a lot less popular than if there were no paywall to begin with.

Anyway, these are my thoughts - however unpopular they may be.

Oh a mount for both Classic TBC and Shadowlands? Interesting.

Wonder how many Shadowlands players will try out Classic TBC just because they bought the CE for the mount.

Honestly, if it’s not too pricey I might consider doing it myself. By that I mean $20-$25 max (fat chance, probably going to be $45-$60), and only because it also looks like it comes with 30 days game time.

I’m only playing Shadowlands to pay for game time anyway.
