Since Shadowlands was over his wiki entrance says “Reincarnating” after that we had 2 new expansions and our man is still not back. Why does it take so long for him? Can’t tell if it is supposed to be this long. Or does Metzen hate when the attention isn’t on humans and pretty elves all the time?
Give us Vol’jin back now please.

Anyway,
Its taking this long because they just left this plot point on the back burner. I do miss Vol’Jin a lot too, I wanna see him back as a Loa and helping us out once more. We didn’t get nearly enough time with him as Warchief. Throw Bwonsamdi in the mix as well, loved that mofo.
Can’t deny the fact here sorry. Look at the people they gave screentime since Bfa was over. Its either humans or night elves. I count dwarves as short humans.
We are talking a time span of 5 years. 8 years if you count in the timeskip they made inbetween too. You can’t tell me they haven’t found out how to weasel him in somehow. The Darkspear heritage questline would have been perfect for this.
I know, and it annoys me as well. I had to explain to a blue poster that, shockingly, Horde players want to interact with Horde NPCs. I get where you are coming from, I really do, but a lot of people take you less seriously or outright dismiss your viewpoints because you whine a lot. I’m not saying this to be an ahole, but to give you some hopefully constructive critiscism.
Not only I can but I also will: They started that plot point and never finished working on it for these 5 years of development. It’s sh/t but its what we have. We can’t force them to write the damn thing, just voice what we want in the hopes it makes a difference somehow.

I hope my good buddy Vol’jin comes back with a bombastic new model and some cool new lore as a Loa after his extra-long nap (that I am definitely not jealous of) in a that cozy lookin’ Wildseed.
They killed Rezan for his story only to drop it 5 minutes later. It just feels bad to be ignored all the time if you aren’t some flavor of human.
Yeah, it was a very tantalizing story hook that feels very neglected. To be honest, I’d rather they take their time and do it right for a story that feels relevant and impactful to the greater narrative.
As much as I’d love to see Vol’jin back, rushing it would kinda have the same feeling stuff like the reclaiming of Lordaeron or Gilneas had. While they were cool in their own little capsules (mostly Lordaeron, Gilneas Reclaimation was a bit of a wash) they are more snapshots of things happening off to the side that we don’t really interact with at a story capacity. Vol’jin’s rebirth as a Loa deserves something front and center.
Zandalar would have been SO much more interesting with Vol’jin as Warchief. It would have even made sense for Talanji to seek him out (unlike Sylvie)! But nah they had to have get merc’d by a felguard on the Broken Shore just because Varian died too. Terrible.
Think it is more that they wanted to push Sylvanas more. Like…they really wanted her to be the face of warcraft for a time. They still do, look how much her skin is front and center on Overwatch collab.
Less because Varian died and more because they wanted Sylvanas in charge. All around still terrible.
I really want Vol’jin’s return to be this epic moment. And I’m worried that it won’t stick the landing.
I imagine they’re a bit stumped about what to do with him. If the plot needs a divine troll ally we already have Bwomsamdi. I guess they could have him return as a more terrestrial loa demigod in an hour of need which I’m sure we’ll have between now and The Last Titan. But nothing about what we know of the future stories seem particular troll themed.

Maybe, but I argue that the Legion story still bears the hallmarks of one where Vol’jin didn’t die and Sylvanas was never made Warchief.
Vol’jin being killed by a trash mob, Sylvanas’ foray into Stormheim having “secret mission” vibes and only involving Forsaken despite now being Warchief of the whole Horde, and the fact that the next expansion (which was probably already planed) had trolls as a major focus all point in that direction IMO. Sylvie fanboys on the writing team probably seized on the opportunity to put their waifu front and center, but I don’t think Vol’jin dying was the original plan.
Which is just crazy. Even us Sylv fans didn’t want her to be warchief. They ruined both character’s stories to enable this absurd decision.
Yes I believe that too. He seems to be invested to make me unhappy at all cost.
Vol’jin will be the new Loa of Kings and it will be a powerful loa. Just be patient for this. Things come slowly but surely.
The “Just wait and see” doesn’t work anymore. I want a good story now not in 6 years.
Still waiting for Night Elves with a true capital and a good story but nothing still happen now for them. Same thing for the Forsaken and Undercity. Just wait, the time will come soon (as example: the mole machine

Night elves got full attention between Legion and Dragonflight plus Bel’ameth, meanwhile Undercity remains closed off behind a door.
That makes 4 expansions full of content in a row.
