The thing that blows my mind about these diehard GDKP forum mutants is that they really seem to think Blizzard is intentionally hurting their business with the GDKP ban which is some galaxy-brain nonsense. Blizzard is much more of a greedy money-grubbing company these days and they wouldn’t ban GDKP if they thought it was hurting their bottom line at all. They clearly have access to a bunch of data that shows the ban is at an absolute minimum a net-positive. These guys love to point to SOD’s population decline over the past year as “proof” of their claims while conveniently ignoring the laundry-list of other reasons of why that happened, its just comically disingenuous.
Another thing that’s really annoying about a lot of these people too is that they will just spew blatantly false nonsense about how “If you don’t want to do GDKPs then don’t, it doesn’t affect you how other people play.” Except it does, and by a lot. If it didn’t, I’d have much less of a problem with them. Over time, GDKPs cause inflation in the server economy to point where even things like Mongoose Elixir and other basic consumes starts costing a huge amounts of gold to point where you are pretty much forced to participate in GDKPs. Right now on SOD Mongoose and Flask of the Titans are about 2g and 25g each. I just checked on Thunderfury Server in Era and 1 Mongoose is 20g and 1 Flask of the Titans is 300g…and this is a version of the game where you can’t even do Searing Gorge dailies for gold. Yeah, no thank you. This is called taking a leak on people and calling it rain.
I’m also willing to bet one of the reasons why it was banned that people don’t often talk about is that its generally toxic to new and more casual minded players and if you’re not gaining enough new players your game eventually dies. They don’t want to indefinitely keep investing in a game that’s mostly aging 40 year olds high on a never-ending nostalgia trip from their childhoods.

I’m really happy to see GDKP’s are getting the boot, it ruined the pug scene, which is what I liked doing outside of my guilds raid times, I just wanted to meet new people, not spend my gold.

That’s the only excuse you people have. “Its hurting mah economy” Let me share something with you, they banned gdkp back in BFD and I know multiple people who were spending hundreds of dollars to provide raid consumes to their guild. BECAUSE IT DIDNT STOP THE BOTS PEOPLE STILL BUY GOLD FOR BOES AND CONSUMES. You clearly didn’t play SOD because you have no idea what you are talking about.

You are comparing a 5 year old that’s been clearing naxx for 4 years, where barely anyone level alchemy or even need a flask of the titan ( it’s only good for prog), to a still progressing server, of course it’s gonna be higher.
Edit : i’m not saying GDKP doesn’t affect economy, it might over time, but it’s not the main reason for this difference.
I mean barely you don’t have a single kill in BFD gnomer or ST on that character, you have 1 kill in mc and barely any other raid kills so you are likely just a player that just pvps and the ranking is such a joke in SOD you don’t even need consumes. You aren’t even interacting with the economy lol.

But i’m crazy and think all loot should be personal loot like in legion with no master looting.

See now this is something I could get behind. The whole HR thing and the fact that everyone is okay with one rat being benefitted for their time vs everyone getting something is ridiculous. If we had personal loot we wouldn’t have to deal with these people which are an awful part of “no gdkp”.
My logs are split across Living Flame and Crusader Strike(because of the server merge) and its all on Heat 2. The 1 kill you’re seeing in MC is on Heat 3. My BFD groups were never logged. Admittedly I’ve only done one BWL because of RL aggro lately and I was super stoned that night. And yes, its nice being able to Rank in SOD and be employed at the same time which is probably why they’re carrying SOD’s honor system over to the new Era.
Go play Mythic+ in retail or something then, idk

We get it, either you don’t care about your time or you are the noob that i’m complaining about that sucks at the game but is always winning rolls. Sure is fun to spend 4 hours in a raid to lose rolls and end up with nothing. 
IF you are employed I want you to go to your boss and tell them you’d like to work for free.

Neither of those, but here is something quite interesting. There are reddit groups, youtube videos, and tons of online articles about GDKP and the need to buy gold to participate in such groups, specially as a brand new level 60.
and here is the shocker…“IT’S ALL FAKE!”, “It’s not true!!!”, “that’s not how it works”.
All those articles, all those videos, all those posts, all those other people are wrong. They are all wrong, there is no incentive to buy gold to participate in gdkp raids. GDKP raids ARE NOT about gold buying!

Instead of GDKP and everyone making a little gold, getting gear and having clean clears we will be left with buyers that will just buy a run and the rest of us get forced into scheduled raid times with a guild or pugging.
GDKPs are not a proper gold income lmfao.
Bad players are going to celebrate it thinking they won’t be forced to gdkp their bis. They will discover that was their only way to get their bis and clear raids. They’ll give up on raiding and level a dozen alts, never making it past 40 again because mounts are too expensive and now they have less gold because gdkps were their money maker.
the funniest part is the GDKP communities did this to themselves
