Well, it’s an opinion thread and we all have our own views. Nothing wrong with either of our views. I’ll still enjoy taunting the people who see GDKP as a religion. I may not have a taunt as paladin, but I’m gonna spam the gdkp taunt.

I think they should just full send and have 1 server for each just to put the argument to bed forever.
(I say this because I don’t believe them when they say that SoD somehow has less gold buying or whatever, they’ve straight up lied and been caught enough times for me to have 0 trust in anything they say)

I main one character and have a farming alt. I find a decent guild and I don’t PuG. Get my WB’s on my main, farm money and mats during the week to afford my flask, etc. The way God intended.

That’s not an option for people in this case except “don’t play then”, speaking as someone who cares about “community feel” drastically over things like getting loot, the “mega server only” option was expected, but sucks more than the no GDKP thing.
Saying that I don’t have a strong opinion on GDKPs one way or the other, but your point made to that poster just wasn’t valid.

I play from vanilla, GDKPs were a thing then.

People know, because they are exposed there.
You can’t really expose people here in the forums, so yeah in the past it was easy being a rat because oh well, forum rules dictate that you can’t call out people.
But that’s different on discord.
Plus, every server maintains a blacklist weak aura with these names.
So. If you are a rat, people do know and will isolate you to the point either you rebrand yourself completely or you move to another server.
That was about enough for me to drop playing alts in Season of discovery and without playing alts I was raid logging and soon I was not logging at all anymore.
You’re sounding it with prejudice that it would be more accurate and real if it was the “anti-gdkp” cult instead.

GDKPs didn’t exist on my server. Maybe they did on yours but not on mine. GDKPs are anathema to what a good MMO should be.

To the people that don’t agree with the GDPK bans, you can just play for the fresh leveling experience and once you ding 60 just go back to era and raid there. Or just stay in era.

GDKP’s actually are a perfect example of what an MMO should be, community driven and community built instead of being forced into it by the developers.

Very glad they’re doing it. So far the only people I’ve actually seen complaining are those that would buy gold and are trying to deflect and pretend like they have some other issue with it.

Dang that’s crazy, 2 people who have never met me calling me a gold buyer. I must’ve bought all the gold I farmed selling ghost mushrooms for 26g a stack at the end of classic which funded me into a gdkp that paid for my epic flying and consumes/enchants all the way to sunwell. Where I did more GDKP’s (and also got paid 2k for playing arms in a random guilds sunwell clear), that paid for me well into wotlk.

And what do you think is going to happen then?
People already know that these servers will progress to TBC and won’t remain vanilla.
These servers will be DOA. Some will level, some will play, but soon you will not have enough people. And then you’ll blame the people still playing classic era because oh well, they didn’t want to support the fresh servers.

I for one don’t have to care where the gold comes from. Blizzard is responsible for ensuring game integrity.
You don’t ask the auction house e-mails with the gold you get if the gold use to buy your items was legit.
You don’t ask the person who opens trade to you to buy a portal, if that gold was legit earned.
But suddenly, people are concerned with the gold origin when it comes to GDKP.
This is hypocrisy at its finest.
Blizzard finally shifted the responsibility to ensure “game integrity” to players so they don’t have to look at that anymore.
When I played vanilla, people often get banned for:
- Economy manipulation (like buying everyhing in the AH and re-selling higher);
- People were banned for bots (and we had GMs manually removing those people)
- People were banned for buying gold and whenever there was a “weird” gold transaction.
So congratulations.
