So what’s the roadmap for cata and beyond here?

Like we get mop in 9 months or what?

Probably so MoP after this, I highly doubt we will see WoD

They’re going to run through every expansion in a faster state until either people stop playing or it catches up with the current expansion.

WotLK classic released on September 26, 2022, Cata on May 20, 2024.

Thats a pretty long 9months

After their recent presentation about WoW subs and what they have been analyzing of their player base, they 100% will go to legion classic, they know it was one of their most successful comebacks.

I’m almost certain they are accelerating Cata, MOP, WOD, potentially completing those expansions in 2-3 years totaling until legion classic.

I’d like to see them just go ahead and rip off the bandaid… combine the clients already.

Let people “time walk” into ALL the expansions that have had “classic mode.”
Have timewalkers talents expansion dependent.

For example if your max level retail friend time walks into cata for the first time, they’ll have starter greens, be basically broke, and have their talents reset(for cata). The game will save their gear/talents/currency for each expansion.

Only fresh characters or characters transferred from a previous expansion will qualify for realm first achievements.

This will allow for achievements and transmogs to be shared between retail and classic. But it will also prevent people from gaining an unfair advantage at the start of an expansion.

It will also allow people who wish to stay in WOTLK, BC, or classic to continue to do so. Could also have cross expansion guilds for easier coordination of group activities etc.

Interesting you say that, I would imagine they are testing exactly that technology with their new remix team, as it’s simply running on the same realm/client.
