Hi, I usually heal. I have like 5 healer toons I play pretty regularly and heal everything from PvP to mythics etc.
I refuse to heal anymore. Blizz doesn’t listen to anything healers have to say. The role gets harder and harder even though we’ve repeatedly asked for HELP.
People now expect you to heal 3 dps that all purposely stand there and eat basically unhealable damage while healing the tank that pulls entire dungeon, while also popping explosive (because that’s somehow my job) while also ccing, while also interrupting because nobody else does, while also doing DPS because if you don’t you’re a “crap healer” apparently, while also taking verbal abuse from almost every group
all this so some smoothbrain dps can tunnel and still barely do more dps than us.
And now WE get nerfed. When there’s so few healers already that can put up with all this BS.
Life’s too short to get stressed out by a crummy playerbase, unfair responsiblity assignment, and a company that doesn’t listen to a word we say.
Now, I am DPS. I am MONGO. I will ignore everything and BE the smoothbrain. No more suffering for me.

If you want to enjoy healing in M+ this patch, I think Disc priest with Jak’s mindbender build is worth a try. Your VDH and boomy do all the cc for you, your aug does the affixes, disc gets to just look cute and do good numbers. It’s the spec that gets away with tunnel dpsing the most (just do radiance on cd and shield tank) even though it is a healer. The other healers, well rdruid and preservation are also good, rsham needs help, holy needs help, mw seems very good with lots of control over mana now.
I do agree that the mana changes are dumb for M+ players. Healer mana should not exist in M+, in raid and pvp it has a purpose. But in M+, if you heal forever, you lose anyway so let people heal forever if they want.

Hello! By the context you have provided, it seems that you are complaining about healing PUG DPS in Mythic+.
This issue can be solved in its entirety by joining a guild that focuses on M+ and thus will have people who care more about mechanics, or by simply creating your own groups and being more selective of who you allow to join.
Have a good day!

This isn’t an affix anymore…
As far as the rest (cc, interrupts, good dps) its the same thing expected of anyone else in the group. If your group isn’t doing this than leave and find better friends or just get gooder.
Moo!

Healers were significantly buffed for M+ this patch though, with all their single target heals going up by like 30-40% in raw power, making it much easier to deal with the burst damage of dps standing in fire constantly. Our mana sustain was nerfed, but that goes up and down with patches all the time. I just tell my tank to give me a few seconds to drink if I need it, but the throughout buff is more than worth the mana sustain nerf tradeoff imo.

I have not healed since TBC. From everything I have seen and the comments on the forums I wouldn’t want to heal.
I know things change but I don’t want to have to dps in a group if I’m playing the roll of a healer. Unless my healing was innately tied to me executing a dps rotation (Disc, pally, monk) or literally no one is taking damage and I’m just standing there.

And this can close the thread!
I don’t know why on earth people choose to pug Mythic+ over anything level 10 AND raids. Get a guild, good grief!
You really have to pick a good guild… Lots of unnecessary drama attached to guilds these days.

DPS standing in crap isn’t the healers responsibility nor blizzards. If people want to stand in fire, let them die.

And that’s not an overly difficult thing to do.
The only thing that irks me is the drinking. Delay in mythic plus.
So you’re complaint is directed at Blizzard but in the post your just really complaining about playing with bad players.
all this so some smoothbrain dps can tunnel and still barely do more dps than us.
^ What?
This post is unhinged, what groups are you running with?

True but I would avoid any guild that mass recruits. It also may mean having to leave a few guilds before finding the right one.

Yes, but this isnt a solution, rather just running away from the problem. It means there are some rather big issues with the game itself. Triple nerfing a role that very few people play isnt the way to go about it from the dev’s angle. Your method of choice is burying your hand under the sand and pretending this issue doesnt exist.
Nerf defensives and offhealing on dps, reduce tank offhealing (dont touch their personal healing tho) and now you can adjust healer healing without gutting their entire role. By reducing the overall offhealing and defensives you maintain needing a healer (big issue devs highlighted in S1 and S2 and was paramount to the healing changes) and now when you go to adjust mob damage and spike aoe dmg, you arent expecting 3 dps that can also heal through it.

To be fair, blizzard hasnt made a quality tutorial for their game, so again the blame is indeed on the devs imo
I like how the expression on OP’s avatar matches perfectly with the vibe from their post.

I agree… I even clicked on this post thinking I’d agree, but it turned out to be an unhinged rant with zero nuance or quality.
Healing this expansion has been a disaster and it’s the first time I have not healed at a medium to high level. Unfortunately nothing in the OPs words alludes to any actual problems with the role.

I agree with the OP. Some people try to say the Healer must do everything includeing DPS.
I’m old school I don’t get this mentality.
It’s like you join the Army as a Medic. And the people as well as the CO tells you:
"Ok Medic, These are your duties; Heal the wounded, administer medicine, Save the dying from death. As well as fight as an infantryman, carry a squad automatic weapon, be a radio operator, carry extra ammunition. carry the dragon rocket launcher, work as company cook. Do the laundry. And be the tank driver.
Um…nah I’ll pass. I don’t need this much grief! I can just play a DPS class instead.

There is no problem. You are choosing to engage with random players, which means that you may occasionally get baddies.
Some baddies are so bad that no amount of skill can make up for their shortcomings.
This is a factor in every online game where you might find yourself engaging in cooperative play with random people.
Healers might benefit from better tuning (most specs in WoW would), but the OP wasn’t complaining about tuning. They were complaining about the aforementioned baddies being so bad that it was making their role impossible to fulfill.
The solution? Stop playing with baddies.
