I never understood the point of this.
Why level-lock us from transmog appearances we already have on lower level alts?
I never understood the point of this.

cause you have to earn the right to look good or at least i see it as being the only good excuse they got.
There literally is no excuse or purpose for it that I can think of at all. They’re just locked for no reason it seems.
I mean we already own the appearances, which we clearly had to get on a higher level toon. So why lock us out of using it on a lower level one? It’s ours, we already own it.
No current expansion stuff until you’re in current expansion leveling range or something, yeah. No particular reason as to why. I guess it’s some attempt to keep current stuff special.
Also when is the next transmog restriction loosening, besides adding grey/white items in DF? I want to hide my staff as a caster, mog my 2hs into 1hs as Fury, etc.
A level 10 running around in Mythic Sepulcher gear would look pretty weird.
I think the only lock is current expansion stuff.
And I mean. Who mogs current expansion stuff anyways.
I can’t say the same thing honestly. Level is just a number.
So there must be some kind of purpose or reason behind it. Do they just want all of our alts to get into the current expansion just for… for what exactly?
Because you can only transmog what you can equip. You can’t equip gear that’s a higher level than you.
I mean. I think using current mogs are not the main reason anyone attempts to get into shadowlands content.
I think they do want people to get their alts into the current expansion. But thats just basic player retention reasons.
Mostly I think SL mogs (for shaman) stink, and so I was really just making a joke about “who mogs SL stuff anyways, its bad”
Can you transmog heirloom gear on a high level alt and then send it to the lowbie?
Never actually tried.
when i always start a new toon i can’t wait to get to a certain level just so i got some decent mogs to choose from.
I believe mailing the item breaks the transmog.
This really bugged me and I couldnt stop thinking about it. So I logged on and confirmed.
This is correct. Confirmed.
Definitely looks weird.
Cause I mean. Come on. Vulpera Warrior? Weird.
Hey, come over here a second.
Aren’t I not supposed to feed you after midnight or something.
This is true but it makes no sense to do this. They’re just appearances and I play on Moon Guard, a roleplay realm, which means honestly these restrictions shouldn’t be in place when a lot of the players come here to just… roleplay.
Fair enough. I’m just saying that’s how it’s always been. They just didn’t change the restrictions when they added the appearance tab.
The original version (of the collections UI) was your character had to be high enough level to equip the item you are mogging to use the mog.
In the original original transmog system from cataclysm, you had to have the item in your bags to apply the mog onto something else.
