So, this new trading post

Let’s be honest here, even if it was turned into a premium how many players do you think will sign up for it or participate in it for a price?

I hope it stays as it is free of any premium price tag, just something fun to do on the side for people who really do enjoy collecting things or transmog stuff.

Haha what? Lots of people do…

The less you see that means the rarer it is.

Also I’m using it right now, lol

I wonder if it will include druid skins.

Oh boy cosmetics of very dubious quality.

I am super baffled how people can complain about this.
This system is built for people like me - who play this game a LOT and have done forever (literally all the years its been up).

If you want a spectral tiger and ain’t subscribed:
Why the heck do you want one???
You aren’t even playing the game!!

Its ment for people who play the game… X_X

Why would you pay $15 a month for a game that you never log in for? And why would you be worried about missing items if you don’t play the game?

Items will rotate in and out from what they’re saying, so if you happen to miss something you really wanted during a period where you were unsubbed you can potentially pick it up again. People are also saying that you can “freeze” items from month to month if you’re working towards them slowly.

I’m not sure how you think that this is similar in any way to NFTs.

I imagine that if they were to do this in a subscription-based game the pushback would be MASSIVE and immediate. Like, RealID massive. Now, I don’t have enough blind kindness in my heart to say that they haven’t obviously thought about it. I don’t have enough optimism in me to overlook that they could be putting in the infrastructure to try a F2P “experiment” with WoW like Wildstar had late in its life cycle. This is the same Blizzard that made the extremely questionable battlepass system in Overwatch 2. Hopefully they keep their grubby hands off those buttons.

OOH that would be cool!

LOL thinking WoW’s shop is “big.”

Oh no! A company wants people to stick around and wants to make money! :scream:

What was introduced in the game that was later turned on us and monetized?

About people subbing for cosmetics? LOL okay.

Alright, you win

Some people confuse me. They see cool free stuff and think Blizzard is coming after their souls or something

I wonder what pure as snow MMO they’re playing that doesn’t have a shop.

no player power, no gold. just cosmetics.

I see no issue with the trading post. It’s honestly the best way to go about the Mission table. If you don’t want cosmetics you don’t need to do it. But mission tables that give gold or loot sees to force people to participate.

I still remember the outrage when the shop began way back in Wrath.

“They’ll put player power on the shop next, pay to win, wow is over”

Here we are, over a decade later…

No.
Until we get actual details, it just seems to be a way to go do things in game, get currency and in some long term thing be able to earn said cosmetics and mounts/pets through in-game currency.

It’s a way to keep people subscribed but quell the rage of others who [rightfully so] want less cash stuff and more things earned in game.

Ngl, it does look interesting.

Im waiting for the premium trading post

People have been predicting that the mount shop will become a pay-to-win gearstore “any day now” for a literal decade. I think the only people with a worse track record for prophecy are the end of the world types.

I am using one right now as well but to say many people dont want it released is just you projecting. Just because you dont see it alot does not make it rare. Someone could think its ugly and not use it. I know I think the 1h sword is. They only thing special about them is they have animations.

Oh no! A company started greedy with their practices so they don’t have a choice to be even more greedy because of huge margins. It’ll just get worse.

I’ll still call them out. It’s impacting me because none of my friends I know is willing to pay.

Yes and thank you blizzard for this. They should brought cash shop and some kind of wow currency long time ago, so ppl can get collection items.
