But Prot paladins abusing Raid lockouts to essentially farm 10man 70 raid content to min/max exp is ok?
![]()
They nerfed powerleveling not boosting key diff.
There was not a single change that prevented boosting in raids or even boosting for gear at all. Only powerleveling was addressed with the boosting changes. Powerleveling is only one type of boosting and what your saying is not powerleveling it’s nothing more than leveling.
Furthermore only powerleveling in 5 mans was addressed and the posts specifically mention that. Raids where never targeted. Thou some of the changes did overflow into raids such as pets getting less exp if this was intended or not was never said.
Powerleveling requires a significant diff in levels bwtween the host and the one getting leveled which from my understanding of what your talking about is not possible.
What the Staff of Hell Magefire is a ‘Lightforged Draenei’? An even more boring and even more pious than normal Draenei?
How is this not power levling?
All they’ve done is moved from dungeons to raids, that’s all that’s changed. They aren’t killing bosses, they aren’t even killing specific mobs. They are rounding up as many mobs as possible for the most efficient exp possible. If you want a shiny server first title you 100% have to partake in this garbage.
If this isn’t power leveling then then I don’t know what else is… except it’s even more abusive/toxic because it doesn’t even share a lockout CD. You don’t think bots/gold farmers aren’t going to 100% incorporate this?
I can already see LFG channel literally a week from launch. “Selling Kara pulls 100g a run PST! FAST RUN!!11!”
The only saving grace this actually might get corrected is because it’s going to cut into blizzards boosting sales, but you are absolutely lying to yourself if you think this is non exploitative way to earn exp.
Since your need a toon within the level range of the pally from my understanding. Being within the level range (approx 10 levels) means it’s not powerleveling dosent meet the definition it’s only a similar level char helping a similar level char level. Just like the changes to boosting (powerleveling) only made it so you need a similar level toon to level with if you want to eg do sp boosts and in fact are still being done. The cc changes made it harder but not impossible same goes for the pally shrath farm.
Won’t cut into boosting sales at all boost gets you to 70 this is for after 68 leveling only.
And even if not as mentioned the changes was directly mentioned to only be targeted at powerleveling in 5 mans not raids.
It exactly meets the definition of a non expoiltive way to level it in fact is exactly how people have been leveling for a long time meaning since og vanilla wow. Aka grinding.
After consideration, this is a nonissue
Right, because blizzard totally intended raid lockouts to be infinitely reset for exp. ![]()
Dosent matter if it was intended or not what matters is if it was allowed or not.
Kara has been reset to farm for exp rep and items since the day it came out in og tbc.
This is not a new methiod at all it’s in fact one of the oldest ways to farm Kara. In fact many start s running Kara beast boss from 68 as it was the most effective way to start tbc. Getting your ring early while leveling to 70 there and getting rng loot of beast boss as dosent save you. If the devs dint want it to work would of been fixed long long ago. Raid lockouts are only made to trigger when a boss it killed this allows farming of raid trash and in fact has been allowed in every single raid up to and including the most recent retail raids. If blizzard dint like that wouldent still be the case.
People were resetting ICC to farm mobs in there too. This has been a thing since forever
As well as sun well as well as castle na or what ever the shadowlands place is.
So basically what your saying is “Abuse early. Abuse often.”
They weren’t resetting and soloing mobs for exp. They were doing it for patterns and trash drops. There is a massive difference in these two examples.
It’s not abuse blizzard has in fact even made blue posts confirming farming raids is acceptable and allowed. It’s why lockouts where never changed to stop raid farming and lock you on trash.
Let me slow down and explain carefully… You seem to be confused.
Farming raids for trash for drops/patterns has always been allowed.
Actively soloing a raid to effectively mimic the ideas of power leveling players without the consequences of enduring lockouts aren’t even remotely in the same galaxy.
It’s in fact exactly in the same case.
Farming raids is allowed.
Farming mobs you are able to kill solo is allowed.
If it was not meant to be soloed you would not be able to. Fact you can makes it allowed.
If they don’t want you to be able to solo kill something it would be made not solo able.
People have been soloing Kara for a very long time. This is nothing new.
It is also not powerleveling. You should really look up the def of powerleveling. You req people in diff level brackets to power level that dosent happen in this example. This is grinding nothing more and grinding is a legal and acceptable way to level.
So all that effort to nerf boosting, yet here we are with almost identical scenarios but it’s A-ok because it’s a raid? The mental gymnastics going on here is mind blowing.
Already set a reminder to this thread, I will be blown away if this isn’t addressed even before prepatch.
No the effort was already mentioned specifically targeted at stoping boosting in 5 mans and powerleveling people.
The goal was to stop powerleveling not to stop grinding.
This is not powerleveling you require people to be in the same level bracket it nothing close to the same thing and not the targeted area to be changed.
Just like they haven’t stoped any of the many farms found on beta of people soloing 5 mana to grind. All of them remain just as good near the end of the beta. Only farms that alllowed powerleveling was addressed. Not personal or party grinds.
None of the 5man solo grinds in beta are even remotely as effective as this Kara grind. Nothing comes close…
That’s not even what were arguing here though. The crux of this argument is exploiting the reset value on raids. Being able to reset a raid 10-15 times an hr to repeatedly solo grind exp is 100% mechanical abuse. You can justify that any way you want. Doesn’t make it not true.
I mean in all honesty the nerf to boosting wasnt even needed.
How effective it is means exactly NOTHING.
Its not exploiting the reset value of raids it is USING the tool blizzard has allowed us to use. If they wanted raids caped via the instance limit they would be.
I can’t wait until they add lockout values to raids. It’s going to happen lol. I hope you’re ready to cope.
