Come back from a break to find that literally all of the Alliance players on Faerlina have left. It’s now a PvP server that is 99% Horde.
Okay, fine, let’s just start fresh an a different server… let’s see… oh they are all either 99% Horde or 99% Alliance. What the heck?
The only server that is in the PvP category with balanced faction population is Grob. This is bad.
How will this be resolved by the time wotlk releases? It seems like we need fresh servers Activision…

Why change anything when it will result in the exact same situation? The players are the problem.

What I don’t understand is how it can get so bad. PvE servers are one thing, as the opposing faction plays little to no part in the experience, but on PvP servers it’s pointless.

The simple answer is that… PvE or PvP servers no one likes losing, and there’s usually little understanding or concessions on the opposing side / dominant side.

Well then I just canceled my sub. Pretty disappointed with this to be honest. I do t want to play on a west coast server but it’s the only options so I’ll choose nothing.

Starts with a small disparity and people start leaving until it’s a massive disparity then the rest of em go. Then the other side starts to leave and we end up as we are.
Yes sadly. 
I’ve watched the whole thing with the servers play out and absolutely hate it. The huge one-sided servers feel just like Retail and nothing at all like the TBC servers did.
It’s really unlikely anything will be done at this point, maybe, but unlikely.
I’m just glad Grobb exists, it is a really good fun server with people who care about things like keeping it faction balanced.
That’s totally fine if you want to vote with your wallet. I’ve known many people who have quit over this.
Certain people on here tend to be nasty with threads like yours, well some of them always troll and don’t know how to communicate without doing so. There are others who understand though.

this will not be resolved. and fresh servers would just devolve back into people splitting the population where each faction gets 1 server.
the only way this can get “resolved” is if they just merge every single server together into one, and i doubt that’d be “in the spirit of classic” so no chance it ever happens
They can resolve it all they want, doesn’t mean that it won’t end up being the same months down the line.
They can’t FORCE people to stay.
Grobbulus is the only balanced server left with a slight alliance favor. and i hope it stays that way.

Transfers ruin servers. It would have been better for the game if they were never implemented and if Blizzard instead approached the server population issues with Realm Connections sooner than they did.

Server issues are a player made problem. Selfish people want faster groups/recruitment and easier pvp so they transfer and make mega servers.
There is nothing blizzard can do to change the selfish mentality of most current gamers

More than one actually. Realm Connections are an effective solution.
Players and Blizzard are equally responsible. Blizzard allowed transfers to occur and player chose to take them.

They left no caps, no restrictions and welcomed the easy transfer profits.
They neglected to protect server health, and this is what we have today. Grobbulus had to fight tooth and nail not only to exist, (They weren’t going to give us RPPVP servers at the gate!), but we had to push those free transfers to Grobbulus to regain 50/50 population balance.
This should have never been allowed to happen in the first place. I don’t know if Classic Devs were denied the ability to preserve balance because CEOs wanted profits, or if the entire company didn’t care at all.
Server Health needs to be front and center before Wrath release.

We are the ones that moved servers to cause this. Im assuming this would naturally happen again if they tried to do anything. It is what it is. Roll on Grobb for pvp. Thats all.
Grobb isn’t really a west coast server anymore. It’s a full blown mega sever now.
