So there's no RDF?

I was actually kinda excited for it, wrath and everything about it is why I’m coming back but it really killed my desire to play if I can’t get off work, come home and just knock out some dungeons. Kinda why I skipped classic and tbc mostly, the game is cool but dungeon finder is what keeps a casual player like me invested, I don’t wanna have to spend all my free time after work forming a group for a dungeon. I’d like to queue up, maybe work on professions, farm gold, quest, something between dungeons.

Nope.

Yea pretty sure they aint giving us RDF cus they want RDF people in retail.

Nope. Stay tuned, because it is possible it maybe added later. In the recent interview, it wasn’t ruled out of staying out, they thought it would just be a bit too risky to add it in at the start.

That’s really disappointing, I wanted an authentic wrath experience that was… ahem, legal? I don’t like having the feeling of everything I’ve worked for being deleted at the whim of a C&D but retail doesn’t even feel like world of warcraft anymore. It’s like they got a new team that wants to make their own game but had to hijack an existing IP.

This doesn’t spark joy

You chose poorly.

Whelp lets see how long it’s a " Not at this time "
Every private wrath server that tried not adding in RDF, added it in eventually because it just didn’t work out very well without it.

I rolled fresh on Angerforge, its easy to find groups at low levels, its not fun waiting for your group to get to the dungeon. One group took 45 min for another player to get to the stone to summon.
The good of no RDF is it will make the expansion last longer, so thats what the dev said in that interview.
The bad, sweaties will smash through the content and cry for more content to be released, thus making wrath shorter.
I say just add it.

RDF was in WOTLK, think again

It’ll be added after they sell their boosts/ICC drops.

Great news! They have a group finder tool built into the game which wasn’t there in classic or BC without an addon.

I somehow doubt you’re just starting and missed all the umpteen hundred threads being spammed on this very topic.

But … stranger things have happened and so I shared the fact you can still join groups fairly easily.

Signed a “casual player” too.

RDF was added at the tail end of the expansion quit your QQ

49% of an entire xpac isn’t “tail end”. Just saying.

RDF is not good for the game.

It was one of the primary reasons for the decline in subs going into Cataclysm.

It destroys communities.

It cheapens social interaction.

It makes the world feel isolated.

It literally has so many negatives, it shouldn’t even be mentioned honestly.

The only upside to it is convenience. Thats it. And it can be argued that too much convenience is bad for the game, which is exactly what this is. Bad for the game.

Whole lot of subjective opinion here being spouted as fact. Cool beans. You don’t like it, we got it. But almost all of what you said, is from your opinion, and isn’t shared by me or the many I know in game. Also, subs always drop at the tail end of an xpac. But if you can show me the definitive proof that the sub loss was, in the words of every single person who dropped their sub, due to RDF, I’ll listen. But me? I dropped my sub before cata came out because I had done all I wanted to do, the guild broke up after downing ICC, and you know, real life stuff. LOL, RDF had nothing to do with why my sub got dropped before cata.

Lots of posts. But still no

It allows people to simply port to a dungeon l

But if people port to the dungeons won’t that cause lag in the cities. So many things to consider.

I hope the community can finally answer these questions since you couldn’t a month ago.

I just dinged my 80 dk two nights ago. There’s still lotsa people levelling up mains, some are onto alts as well, lotsa people looking to run advanced and basic stuff for loot and achiv progress from what I’m seeing.

The in game group finder is really fine as it is, and not much different from what we use on retail for finding m+ runs. I haven’t played retail in two months, logged on last night and it took me longer to find a basic m+ group than it does looking for or making a group in wotlk classic, honestly.

In addition, as you level up and come across good players, or players in bind to account gear etc, add them up as friends, there is no in game notification for when someone adds you to their friends list, only for real ID request etc. So you can add heals and tanks etc, set notes so you know what they have for specs, and then hit them up later for heroic etc.

Again I’m in blues and greens right now with a few epics, not geared or desirable. In between runs I death gate to go mine the Arathi area for mining levelling, and then list myself again for group finder. You can list yourself for all 12 heroics if you want to. I’m getting group invites and summons back to Northrend before I can even find a vein to bash my axe into.
