So the Night Elf resolution is put on the backburner?

Until Sylvanas completes her task, NEs will never get resolution right?

Or do we think this task will be completed impossibly fast?

TBH I’m in favor of delaying NE resolution if that means I don’t have to see Sylvanas for a long time. It was a long, slow process of ruining one of the arguably coolest characters in the WC universe and I think most of us are glad to see her go, even if for a little bit.

I do think there will be a rebuilding process for the NEs, whether that means being shown through smaller events like quest text or bigger events remains to be seen. I wouldn’t mind it being a smaller story that takes place in the background, as we’ve seen, Blizzard is incapable of writing for Night Elves in a main story scenario in which they come out victorious without devastating loss.

I am still hoping that the “renewal” will mean something more than Sylvanas being confined in the Maw for the time being.

Maybe the rest of the renewal can proceed without Sylvanas now.

The night warrior power was supposed to bring a resolution and was to involve the night elf souls rescued in the Ardenweald campaign. Instead they ignored it, moved on with pseudo justice, and will probably never use the night elf souls or the NW power in an actual renewal.

Sylvanas will come back either late patch next expansion or the expansion after that.
The resolution will only involve the souls that were tormented.

I doubt any real resolution regarding the War of Thorns will ever happen since the Horde is apparently not at fault and Sylvanas feels bad and has completed her penance in hell.

There is nothing else that can come out of this unless Blizzard starts doing a revamp of the old world and give the NEs some new toys to play with along with everyone else.

I thought it was resolved. Make a new nelf, you start in Shadowglen as though nothing had happened beyond the cataclysm. Sylvanas is doing time for her crimes. It’s (mostly) all good. The only thing I think should be different is that Tyrande should step up, go into the Maw and help her save souls. She’s the leader who failed to stop Horde encroachment of nelf lands, the night warrior who failed her purpose, and the High Priestess of a goddess who failed her chosen people. I find it ironic that Sylvanas accepts responsibility for her bad but Tyrande ignores hers.

It’s funny, my Druid is a Night Fae, and he has some of those named Night Elf NPCs running around. I randomly spoke to one. She says something like (paraphrasing here) :

“I am so glad we were saved. But I wonder what purpose we will serve? I guess we need to be patient.”

That can mean Blizzard is aware of how Night Elf fans feel and they have something planned for the future… or they are making some sort of inside joke that the victims are dealing with events of the story better than the fanbase.

That means that blizzard forgot about it and doesn’t care.

Why do you think We have to wait for that to get a new tree and our zones back

What do you consider Resolution"?

If you mean “brought back to life”, that’s not happening. You’re not getting that.

If you mean “sorted out of superhell”, that’s happening now. And, realistically, should continue happening indefinitely.

So no, you likely won’t see the “end” of it.

Renewal means the NE souls are freed from the Maw and sent to Aardenweald where they belong. Where they eventually get reborn as new life, as per the mechanics of Aardenweald.

What kind of resolution are you expecting? In off game stories, they’re rebuilding in Hyjal… In game, it’s probably not going to happen at all save for the souls that found refuge in Ardenweald.

Uh… that’s not how it works.

The rebirth is only for wild gods and loa who still have a home planet to return too :wolf:

I thought Wild Gods and Loa get reborn as they were, and everyone else gets recycled into new life.

Nope. It’s pretty specifically a wild god/loa only thing :wolf:

It’s why loa’jin was such a big deal when it happened

I feel in terms of eternity, waiting a little while is not so bad. I do wish they had said Pelagos would purge each soul’s memory of its time in the Maw during judgement as that feels the kindest thing to do, and makes the wait unimportant. Imma just headcannon that in, for my own sake.

The only way I can see the Kaldorei souls returning would be if Elune and the Winter Queen worked in concert and allowed them to return in the form of wisps.

I could have sworn that after Tyrande dealt with Sylvanas, she mentioned she would be working on the actual renewal for the Night Elves going forward. Most likely we will see the fruits of that in the next expansion. Right now the focus is on the Shadowlands, unfortunately.

I got the impression that while Sylvanas is “saving souls” (Press X to doubt) that the Night Elves will be working on renewal for the living.

Not sure what resolution would make you happy. It was a crap storyline to begin with (here’s a hint Blizzard, dont have one faction commit genocide as a “fist-pump” moment) and I’m more then happy to move beyond it.

For the future I would love to see both the Night Elves and Forsaken rebuild without the shadow of the Banshee Queen for a while.

spicy hot take…this will be good.

Puts things in perspective…a perspective that will be highly contested, imo.

It’s not a spicy take it’s outright wrong to the point of trolling. In fact it probably IS trolling.
