So the new patch notes

The cross faction bgs in my opinion has got to be the dumbest crap they have ever added. I mean we have gone so far away from what Warcraft was. Its no longer warcraft at all. Not sure how everyone feels about this but it doesnt feel like WoW anymore. Its always been Alliance vs horde what are your opinions on this?

I was too busy focusing on the alt-codes in your name.

I haven’t cared about faction in 10+ years. It’s not what makes this game fun and cross-faction randoms will only be a positive for me. I want to heal everyone equally

I want to remain fighting for the Horde. Sadly, PvP games are dead even if you cross-faction it. That’s what happens when you have someone who only cares about the PVE side of the game and completely abandons PVP.

It is only cross faction if Horde and Alliance get in a party and queue together I think. What team you’re on is not random if you only queue solo or with your own faction.

So…

This doesn’t solve the queue syncing issue, but it helps players play with friends from the other faction.

I only play HORDE, and only ever queue solo, and never have queued for merc, yet for awhile there, I was finding myself on Alliance side. Haven’t in a few weeks, so maybe it’s fixed now?

In random battlegrounds?

Pretty sure the cross faction grouping option the post was talking about is coming for non-rated

It’s literally just so grouped friends can queue together cross-faction. They’re not making random BGs totally faction agnostic or anything.

Uh, this would only ever happen in Blitz then, which is faction agnostic for obvious reasons.

Hey, y’all are undoubtedly right. I always queue for 3 events at a time: always Blitz, and usually whatever 2 categories that relate to the weekly quests. So they just kinda get lumped together in my mind. It probably doesn’t help my memory of these things that I’m usually a bit lit 420-like when I play…

There are pros and cons, but I think pros started to overshadow cons in the modern game. Factions used to work in the past when people weren’t minimaxing like crazy, but nowadays people would just drift to the “best” faction. With realm communities gone, there is even less reason to feel loyalty to your faction when it’s just one huge sharded cross-realm blob. In fact I would rather team up with a fellow horde Shadowmooner than some rando ally from Sargeras.

Yup its not WOW anymore. Its just a time filler for me.
Cross faction is just wrong.

This will increase the overall player pool by removing what is currently splitting it in half.
It will reduce queue times, provide better matchups, and make sync queueing a bit more difficult to pull off.
That covers most of the common complaints players have with battlegrounds.
Also lets you play with anyone you want to.

You want to talk about lore?
Horde and alliance have been fighting wars together since they had to deal with the Litch King.
Seems they got over it, so you probably can too.

I wonder if this is going to apply to the brawls, which you can’t even merc.
