It’s funny considering that the Horde garrison is right next to Bladespire Citadel and Grom’gar (the chad city that’s built inside the remains of a colossal). It’s like being next to 2 other absolute units your gf tells you not to worry about.
With the larger npc/followers, your Alliance court yard can get pretty crowded. No fung shui (whatever) for hero alliance person.
Most of the Horde garrison buildings don’t have fur coverings to break the wind. Never mind actual walls. In an arctic tundra no less!
Bladespire and The Temple of Karabor were suppose to be playable cities.
Another bit of cut content from WoD. If you ever walked around Karabor you’d know it was meant to be a city. It takes up so much space in the zone but serves no purpose beyond one scenario.
It’s really sad tbh. Both cities look amazing.
yes the alliance garrison is better, just like most aesthetic things. horde garrison is just crap ontop of crap
Exaggerate much?
I’m not really into either of them honestly. Mainly because Shadowmoon Valley just doesn’t do it for me aesthetically and Frostfire Ridge makes me feel cold.
I find they each have their charms. It’s too bad we never got to see the other garrison designs for plots in different zones before they decided to just have outposts. There were a few pics at one point of a Talador one with a crystal aesthetic that looked very cool.
yeah horde kinda got screwed with their garrison. I can only imagine how cold they get, too.
I think this is why I love it. I’m an Aussie and it’s too hot here in Summer. I’ve never seen snow.
Go look up the Talador spot they had for it when we were originally getting the choice of where to put it. It was cool.
Bladespire Citadel looks like a dump. It fits right into Frostfire Ridge.
I saw some footage of a bunch of huge, epic designs for the garrisons stuffed away in an unused map. We could have had so much.
Instead we got a selfie cam.
You had to go and trigger me, didn’t you!
Mine has a miner. In the main courtyard. Trying to mine my flagstones. After putting his pick on his back. Somehow causing sparks to fly up. And a hard tinkling sound. Every fifteen seconds. You know, in case I manage to forget he is there!!!
Does it have a misplaced miner? No?
I’m in!
Seriously though, I can’t wait to have the experience with a minerless garrison, spikes or no.
I love my alliance garrison much more than my horde one. It is nicer looking.
yup. it’s one of the rare times blizzard threw the alliance a bone.
a great parallel to stormwind being a huge, bustling city and orgrimmar being a collection of huts
i’d like to see more building into the cliffs in orgrimmar. as far as garrisons go, i don’t really think those are worth updating at this point.
The music, cities, architecture, and armor is very biased towards Alliance. It’s a shame that Blizzard completely forgot about them in terms of a good story
Seriously, the Horde garrison made me faction change. I HATE snow environments and I was a BE at the time, so the spikes were terrible for me
