So the Alliance Garrison

It’s just better right? It’s a full scale small castle town.

The Hordes is just a camp with a big hut at the center.

Just think about what it could have been…

It is 1000% better than the horde garrison. This is coming from a “horde for life” guy.

The Horde one looks like it could be completely torn down by a light breeze.

Even worse, the horde garrison looks like it should be on a beach in a warm area, not in the snow. Alliance is in the nice woods area. Makes no sense.

Snow fell on one of my buildings and it collapsed.

True story.

Yes. The Alliance Garrison is much prettier, as is the zone it is located.

More Alliance bias.

Alliance certainly as an aesthetic bias when it comes to cities, music and general art.

It’s cute and peaceful. I love the garrison ;-;

(I still wish we could have had the options of customizing the building styles depending on what race we play)

Orcs have wood and spikes and no outhouses. What do you expect their garrison would look like?! WoD horde garrison is a field version of Orgrimmar.

I don’t know, I love my Horde Garrison, I have so many of them! I love the snow, and the buildings are easier to access; in the Alliance ones the ceilings are too low and the Work Order people hide in side nooks and crannies.

I like the layout of the Horde Garrison much better; Flight path right next to the Main Hall, the big fire for cooking, right near my bank, and the closeness of the Garrison Quartermaster.
The Gathering farms, mines etc are better located also.

The only plus to me in the Alliance Garrison is the Ethereal in the Storehouse; he doesn’t run away! In the Horde one it’s a constant chase.
Also, it seems patronising that the Alliance Guild Banks sparkles, while the Horde one does not… do Alliance characters have more challenges than Horde?

I’ve never been a fan of the heaviness of Stormwind, and while the Alliance Garrison is pretty, it doesn’t have the character of my Horde Garrisons. I’d MUCH prefer Silvermoon architecture, though.

I do feel very at home in my Horde Garrisons, and it’s rugged and beautiful, who ever has enough spikes!

Horde are generally unsophisticated mongrels who eat paint chips and crayons. Checksout.

You forgot to add refugee in front with a trashfire in the middle.

But we have spikes!

We have an outhouse!

It’s a bit chilly, but it works!

I so wish they would have done more customization with Garrisons - but don’t worry. We’ll get them when we go back to Draenor in an expansion or two when we need to stop Yrel.

We will have to explore the southern continent and it’s outer isles before Yrel can uncover the sacred relic that will allow her unspeakable power. There is also the Underdark, an underground zone filled with mystery that is somehow tied to the stability of that universe.

That’s when the Horde will get playable Ogres (albeit a bit smaller so they fit through doors), the Alliance will get Botani as an Allied race. And the Garrisons will allow for much more customization as well as placement on Draenor. It will be an amazing expansion.

That is definitely one thing I hate about the Alliance Garrison and love about the Horde Garrison in comparison.

My Horde Tier 3 Trade Goods place doesn’t have a roof, so I can fly in to dump my Garrison resources or to use my Auction House. However, on the Alliance, the Tier 3 becomes indoors. My Alliance Alts have to dismount when it’s their turn to dump Garrison Resources. It is a minor inconvenience. But I notice it every time.

True, there are a lot of minor inconveniences to the Alliance Garrison that, to me, make for a less stream-lined experience, and a more clunky interaction.

The Horde Garrison has nothing on that, holy crap. I’m jealous.

If they gave us more options than dumb old Orc and Human, Garrisons could’ve been a first step toward Player Housing. But Ion and his “Bigger team than Mists” team failed massively on WoD. A trend that continued in Legion and made even worse in BFA. The recent change in SL with Baine really makes me think SL isn’t ready for release and it’s gonna be WoW’s Fallout 76.
