So that is it for enhancement?

What a let down. Tell us a class rework is coming, wait until the last minute and then do nothing but somehow miraculously make enhancement talent tree worse.

I knew better than to expect a PROPER rework but this failed to even meet my already low expectations.

Why do we have 7 talent nodes for improving lava lash? Why is flurry a talent at all? Why are there SO MANY TALENTS for windfury procs which are garbage damage? Why in the name of Aegon the Usurper do we zig zag across the talent tree for Storm and Elementalist builds?!

I feel like an explanation is warranted.

I thought by ‘lighter touch’ they would be removing the 2 point nodes and separating Ascendance from DRE at the very least.

I wish all classes got the treatment mages and warlocks are getting.

With ways the trees are we have to get a full rework to get the all the 2 point nodes. At this point I’m praying they do wordup’s suggested adjustment and then give us a rework for 11.05 or 11.1.

they ran out of funds for the dev they hired, he was only able to rework ele then got let go

Agreed, but as history repeats itself. Shamans gets the least amount of attention and always last minute minimum changes. We are then told wait until the expac has launched and we may do something. Its so dissapointing and how they think this is ok is beyond me.

I pvp mainly and its so frustrating knowing im targeted 100% of the time and rather then give us better defensives they just leave us without any changes.

I feel like (after experimenting with totemic) that theyre focusing on tree segregation for a reason.

I went a right/left elemental build without wolves and had a blast. Damage was good and it worked all the hero talents into itself. Meanwhile stormbringer can go the specs weve played. Idk just my observation, maybe theyre just clueless

Instead they nerfed elemental blast and unnerfed it :joy:

Jair saying it 100% true unwise the launch of DF throughout alpha abd beta guardian Druid got no change at all. And within 2 weeks of DF launching guardian Druid got a 50% damage buff to all their physical attacks and it was still a F tier tank. Heck if you take maul you do less ST damage. That’s how bad guardian Druid was

We just got a bunch of talents reduced to one point and even got Doomwinds cd reduced

Doomwinds and the talents leading up to it are trash. We will all be playing the elemental build again.

I mean, this is entirely tuning dependent. But as it stands, its probably stormbringer either way. Also, Storm build (it’s new variation that isn’t quite mindless SS spam anymore) is doing the most atm but in keys is maybe doing a bit too much at the top end.

I’ve been playing a storm build with hailstorm (I mostly just bgs these days) and I think it’s the perfect enh build. Every button has a purpose and feels impactful. It plays fast like storm with added complexity like elementalist. Looking forward to expanding it and getting a proper build now.

Now, if flurry was made baseline I would be very content. It’s clunky in the tree for basically the same reasons as feral lunge and windfury.

Was looking forward to playing enhancement. This is unfortunate news. Hopefully it plays out better when it launches.

We just got 3 of our 2 point nodes reduced to 1, a couple of QoL changes, and Primordial Wave and Doomwinds reduced their CDs. Lot of build variation is now possible and it’s been pretty great. Only blemish is that Totemic still remains pretty bad but Stormbringer for both builds in AoE and Single Target is doing great. Things are actually looking up.

Totemic in general just has a weird design to me. How did they come up with the keystone ability being an aoe physical pulse?

Would it have been too boring to just make searing totem the keystone? And it attacks your most recent lava lash target? And all the supplemental talents could then modify it to add AoE or whatever.

Still a lot of rotation/ability bloat. Class tree is still meh at best and we have at least 3 useless talents including a capstone, feels like it was designed for purely for casters. I mean they took flurry out because it was useless for elemental/resto, but the 3 talents that we get zero use out of stay? Stormbringer still has that crit/slow talent and a completely useless choice talent that gives us a free instant heal, which would be great if mana mattered to us, our heal wasn’t awful without MSW, and with MSW it’s already instant. All imbuement talents or the imbuements themselves. You mentioned totemic, but it cannot be stated enough how bad totemic is.

A big sticking point for me is useless talents. No class/spec should have useless or even mostly useless talents. It really ruins character progression when you get a talent and it doesn’t feel impactful. It’s even worse with hero talents. If there are useless talents, even on a choice node, the class/spec design teams are failing horribly and it’s unacceptable.

The changes are great changes, but there are still plenty of issues that need addressing. We basically got table scraps, the bare minimum to at least make things kind of okay-ish for stormbringer.

Bugs and totemic aside I wouldn’t call an additional 3 points in the spec tree without dumb must-pick 1 point talents added in is a hell of a lot more than just table scraps.

It might feel like table scraps compared to mages, warlocks, and paladins. But as far as being enjoyable to play going into the next expansion I think these changes are pretty good considering enhance on live is already really fun to play imo. I’m also a huge fan of the shaman class tree which may or may not be a controversial opinion, but I love that the class tree is basically all utility, defense, mobility etc. and with the beta version I can basically get whatever I want but not everything - and still it doesn’t feel like I’m missing something mandatory.

Hmmm, this is good news. I do enjoy more flexibility in builds…

Seems to be the one hold on identity and countering meta builds from being grossly better and forcing a specific play style.

Looking forward to the changes now
