Start by not being useless in gear equal to level 60 greens.
Do 5mans, buy boes, reach honored with 3 reps and buy blue pvp gear.
I just leveled a spriest and got 3/5 blue pvp gear just from questing and earning reputation from it.
That’s like 100 resil and big hp.
You’ll still get trainwrecked with 100 resil. Start staying alive around 300ish, so why waste my time doing all that when I can sit in AV working for brutal gear XD

People with emotions, responsibilities, queue times, and feelings.
There are definitely some volatile folk in AV this past few weeks.
Maybe they should be taking care of their responsibilities instead of playing a video game. Might make them a little less volatile.
This isn’t Classic. AV queue times are under 3 minutes in the middle of the night. They’ll live.

There is, quite literally, zero reason to waste time getting rep/dungeon gear on a boosted toon unless you just want to do that to yourself. And unless you get yourself max badge gear + as much bis as Heroics can offer, you’re not actually that much better geared, comparatively, than a fresh boost.
If you want to recommend anything PvE wise before doing PvP on a fresh boost, there are two legitimate options to bring someone up to a decent starting point without wasting weeks of prepatch.
I agree with the OP 100%. I made a thread, coming from the opposite point of view. The gear is garbage. I wish I had not purchased the boosted. Actually, I don’t see a way to catch up at this point. I have always been a strong player and helped my team at BG’s. Now, I am a liability. This is NOT fun. Not all the boosted players want to leech.
Any suggestions? I probably won’t play the expansion. Already cancelled sub.
Oh I have level 60 raiding gear from Vanilla classic. It is better than the “expansion gear set”. But no match for the BG gear.
Or just follow the crowd in AV for about a dozen matches + go to Hellfire and turn the towers. Hellfire daily alone will get you ~12k honor still before Wrath goes live.
or buy cheap greens off the AH. or go do Netherstorm/Shadowmoon Valley quests. Wouldn’t be surprised if Nagrand’s Circle of Blood weapon is better than the boosted one if the 58 boost is anything to go off of.
Or just accept your boost was a donation to Bobby. Better than getting stuck into a sunk cost fallacy if you don’t like the game.
We’re all really proud of you. I’m sure each one of your toons had crap gear when they dinged 70.
Seriously doubt that every horde is going to get more honor in a turtle. Losing 3 times is well over 2k honor in 30 minutes, assuming the games run according to the rush meta. Who’s winning that much honor in an AV grind down?
Yeah, play the game normally next time instead of buying into the pay to win.
I kind of agree about the fresh boosties but really when it’s AV, people rush to van or drek anyways so I don’t really notice them, When it comes to other BG’s, It’s a bit annoying but I can’t really complain since I did the same thing on my freshly boosted shaman, what I -DID- do though was try to contribute as much as possible, when I played AB or EotS, I’d play as elemental and just well…we all know what I did and why lol, for any other BG I’d go as healer and just do my best…
It was funny though being 1-2 shot by people, but like frustratingly funny.
This is why the mmorpg and wow community has become a joke. Ether a boosted character with crap gear goes into pvp, people still QQ or a boosted character goes into pvp with good gear and people will QQ cause “oh my gurd they didnt earn it”.
How do you think people first start when doing pvp or pve, with excellent gear?

My level 61 DK had more HP then level 70 boosts. 
I 2 shots boosted characters in BGs, they are a joke.
However, boosted chars are on both sides so the amount on each sides should be similar.
Both sides have boosties… This is a nonissue.
I agree: boosted toons should start with full Brutal sets.
A far more obvious and better solution would have been to not sell boosts in the first place.
Let’s be honest, at this point anyone not in full Brutal gear is gonna get wrecked. Dungeon and reputation PVP gear are a waste of time. Just spam AV, stay with the crowd, and you’ll be fine. I literally leveled my DK to 70 in AV and had zero issues.
