Every Ulduar raids I join, they always promised running hms but eventually we got all the inexperienced and low gs players dragging it down and became normal runs. Some folks got upset and left midway and sometimes the group got disband as no one wanna come to half cleared raids. Anyone has the same awful experience? I figure I will just let my characters idle till the next phase and farm H++ for the hm gears at this point.
I normally join guild raid groups that are trying to fill on my alts. Groups that can already clear a couple if not all hms (by checking their logs).
I would stay away from groups that will advertise that they will try them or don’t check logs.
As always if this is your main character I’d recommend finding a guild. And you’d probably also get people praising GDKPs if youre gonna only run with pugs.
you should definitely do a quick scan of the player gearscores in the group. I do this even with h+ dungeons. Not as big of a deal but if the entire group is 3.5k gs i just leave no point in a slow run when I could find a faster group
When you get invited start looking up the logs of the players to see if they even have killed the bosses on HM yet.
You can also look up their guild if they say they are on an alt as their guild on logs will show their progress.
Thanks for the advice guys, guess I will have to be meticulous and check the logs before stepping in. My guild doesn’t have a second 10m raid group going and I have no choice but to pug sadly. 25m content is on farm status though. If worst comes to worst, I probably do gdkps or just sit and wait till next phase for the new currency
Assume it has something to do with a certain percentage of the playerbase being gatekept from progression. RMT.
Check peoples logs yourself, don’t trust the raid leader to do it.
Sometimes they get sick of waiting and take whomever at a point.
His pugs are not downing HMs because of RMT? What is wrong with you. That doesnt even make sense
What people already said. Just be more mindful of the people in your group via a quick log check etc.
You keep showing up in various threads here complaining about GDKP and RMT. Seems like projection at this point mate. If game is as doomed as you say, why are you here?
Look like you just figured out why GDKP is the most popular pug system.
so join a reputable gdkp and do all the hardmodes and get paid for it.
I did a normal mode only ulduar on my priest saying (how bad could it be? Normal modes are easy) then wiped 4 times on Auryia and 4 times on Vezax, and 4 times on Yogg 4 light.
The average player is braindead in this game, no wonder they want classic back. They could understand 1 button rotation and tank and spank fights.
Check the logs
Do your due diligence or have your time wasted
Haven’t pugged a single run since P1 of TBC
problem is normal mode logs just look bad, I had more HPS than my healers in guild when we 3 man heal fights and I green parsed
Yup had the same experience a few times. That’s why I think there are so many people playing hardcore vanilla.
I’ve tried to explain how easy vanilla leveling is and I would get shutdown from everyone trying to explain how hyperspawns and pats are actually a challenge
Yeah if you see people promising hardmodes and you check the logs and it’s all normal modes don’t run with those people
I have a suspicion next tier heroic logs will only matter
I mean hyperspawns can really get you but I was re-leveling in retail and with the scaling changes those little engineer demons out in hellfire that explode when they die?
Yeah so if you kill those when you’re like level 40-50…they one shot you. Doing quests in hellfire with scaling at higher levels was harder than anything in classic. Hell TBC leveling was harder than classic vanilla leveling.
I was just worried my priest wasn’t ready for HMs yet…safe to say I feel more than capable now if that’s my competition.
