I just headcanon it that, as the multiverse’s greatest 300D chess master, Sylvanas has no one on her level to play with, except herself. Her contradictory viewpoints depend on which half of her galaxy brain’s turn it is.
I know, but I couldn’t resist the chance of getting rid of Anduin too lol.
I forgot to factor in the Edge of Night. They still need to clean that up and let us know how the Jailer made contact with her anyway, I may want to do the Kryian campaign eventually. Even if she finds out that she’s been played from the jump, I’m not seeing how it’s even possible that she can return from all of this. That physopath has gone way too far to ever been redeemed.
Vespero, in that perspective it does make more sense. She’ll send anyone to the maw in order to save herself.
I would hope it’s not that black and white because Tyrande isn’t wrong about Sylvanas or the horde.
She totally isn’t. She is one of the most reasonable characters in the story currently. She even realizes that she needs to go into the maw to free as many of her people as possible before they suffer further torture and reach the point of permanent obliteration.
No other leader has sacrificed themselves to save their people from the maw, yet Tyrande gets called “crazy” for it, if they somehow say that Tyrande is wrong for doing what she does and that Sylvanas was right with everything she did, I’d say that’s pretty disgusting.
If it wasn’t for Tyrande, many more of her people would still be getting tortured and obliterated, there’s absolutely nothing that would suggest that Tyrande is wrong or acting unreasonably.
Furthermore she wants justice against the one (!) that brought this misery upon her people.
The problem is though that the story feels like a roulette nowadays, and the writers could do the most random things just to have things the way they want them. We have seen enough of that in BfA, and it makes me worry a lot about Shadowlands.
If they say that Sylvanas is right, it automatically means that the Night Elves suffering in the maw is also right, and that what Tyrande is doing is wrong.
I agree, that means that her BfA arc shouldn’t exist. And yet here we are.
That’s open to interpretation. She hesitates becouse she has second thoughts about her actions or she wants Anduin to join willingly and validate her choise.
This is the problem. She’s knows what she’s done and what she’s doing and never has any problem with doing it, and now that she’s nearing the end of her goal she’s showing some remorse?! It’s ridiculous and doesn’t like up with everything we’ve seen thus far.
I’d be willing to accept this arch if they at least gave us some Easter eggs or hints or something. They are one again (assuming my interpretation of the scene is correct) trying to turn this character on a dime. This resort sticks because I used to like Sylvanas and in a way still have some admiration for her, or who she was anyway.
I never even implied she should go unceremoniously. That’s not good either. She too big of a character to just be wasted in some pathetically poor death plot.
Agreed wholeheartedly. Sylvanas is a hare-brained meme character with silly roundabout schemes that always semi-fail and always end with great chunks of the world suffering for them, however ‘good’ her Anakin-tier intentions may or may not be.
She’s gone away into the Garrosh corner of my brain where I stick the stupid characters that Blizzard doesn’t know how to develop across expansions. I hope she’s disposed of as perfunctorily as he was.
Sargeras is going to join us in our fight against the Void Lords as a sort of Illidan-replacement for an anti-hero.
She was good ever since Cata, where we put humans to good use as seedlings and army fuel instead of letting the cancer grow unchecked.
No redemption is really needed.
I doubt that.
Maybe it’s just my imagination but so much of Sylvanas in BFA had her looking down on everything. Sitting on a throne. Jumping from ramparts. Close ups. Killing the NE girl.
Then we see this cinematic where she looks up to the jailer talking to her. And for once she just looks vulnerable and no longer in control.
We also thought that we couldn’t get another faction war which was even worse than the one we got in MoP, yet here we are.
That’s not an equatable situation. One involves widespread dislike, the other is just something that objectively wouldn’t occur.
Also the MoP faction war was ultimately fine, the issues just lay in villainbatting the Horde.
It can be possible however our trouble begins when we notice this is still our introduction to the Shadowlands. 9.1 will be expanding on who our big bad might be.
She’s wrong because going Leeroy and seeing what the power of Elune did to the stag guys on ardenweald is just bad.
Also her people exterminated others, it’s karma catching up
It’s okay when it happens to trolls and those other Lesser Races apparently. That’s the vibes I’m getting.
Yep, elves REEEEEEE powers are the only reason they cna become banshees, guess the next raid is going to be seeing Sylvanas and Tyrande yelling at each other while the Jailer is facepalming during the whole thing
thank you gnome melon.
On thread, well there isnt much to talk about the cinematic just show’s us she has feelings, thats it the problem is that it comes after bfa where the mustache twirling was up to 11, this is not the proper way to set pathos to a villain because we just want her to dissapear, having this moment where the devs are pointing “look! she’s a person too!” takes valuable time that could be used to develop something else and only appeases… whoever is left that likes sylvanas where the rest of us that are tired dont get anything from it.
basically im not the target audience so it sucks she’s on screen again getting the feels.
She’s not wrong, and all the power did was kill them both because they tried and failed to share it. It also saved their planet from the old gods.
Who exactly did they exterminate? Because without proof, Maiev is just posturing.
