Incorrect. Q’onzu’s own Owlkin bring up that Elune created the Owlkin.
Neither the Darkspear or Zandalari care about Q’onzu. They care about Gonk. Gonk is not associated with the Green Dragons or the Ancients or the Night Elves, and as such the section of the Emerald Dream that Amirdrassil is in has no relevance to Gonk. Q’onzu being there has no connection with Gonk not being there.
There is no overlap between Gonk and Q’onzu.
If anything Q’onzu is more associated with the missing lunar Loa of Zandalari culture for their deep connection to Elune. Not Gonk.
Owls are lunar symbols, and symbols of feminine wisdom. Trolls would likely worship an owl Loa as symbol of the moon.
Q’onzu and the Somnowls are rather weird, as we already have lunar themed owls in the literally named Lunarwing Owls:
The Somnowls sound more dream and sleep based, and don’t exhibit blatant lunar features:
Lunarwing Owls, from what little lore there are about them, are said to serve Aviana. Suggesting that she likely had a hand in their creation.
Somnowls are weird dream like birds, they feel like something someone would dream up
I thought Q’onzu might be an aspect of Azeroth or Ny’alotha because they have the poke dialogue “is this my dream or yours?” Which is tied to the Void. The puzzle box of Yogg-saron asks, “Is reality just a dream?”
Q’onzu is a puzzling lil birb.
Me: “Tell me who you are.”
Q’onzu: “bye!”
Q’onzu very well could be a trickster. Most of the Wild Gods when asked about them, all have wild tales, that even Cenarius comments couldn’t all possibly be true.
There’s very few consistent traits that the wild gods and dryads give about them. One being they’re quick to change their mind when bored and the hint that Q’onzu himself gives that they may be a lot older than we realize. Possible one of the first ancients to walk azeroth.
Going back to how the primitive trolls and Shuhalo all worshipped the Void from being in “the deep places” Q’onzu could be well educated on the Void, that’s why they don’t mind if the Druids of the Flame tear down the barrier of the Dream. But as dialogue pops up all over the dream the Void is trying to infect Amirdrassil’s roots.
N’zoth did say its roots went deep.
I still would have preferred Q’onzu and the anguished spirit that bonded to Shandris to have been Dreadlords.
Zandalari and the trolls don’t matter to blizzard. They did one troll patch and complained about troll fatigue, then went on to do four expansions of nelf focus.
The emerald dream has been made one of the most important lore bits in the setting and they chose to hide true troll gods and display a night elf owl god that has taken the title of loa and the domain of change, while hiding what is arguably the second most important horde wild god.
This is only one small corner of the Emerald Dream. Last time we saw Gonk visit the Emerald Dream it was way on the other side of the world in the part of the Emerald Dream that would overlap with the Echo Isles.
Gonk has no reason to hang out at a patch of the Emerald Dream off the coast of the Dragon Isles, and is not part of the Ancients that respond to the call of Cenarius.
Your complaint is without merit, but obviously you know that as well as everyone else does.
Anzu is apparently also working in the Emerald Dream and we have yet to see him too.
To be fair, I can bring Anzu out to Amirdrassil at any time since I farmed him as a mount way back in Burning Crusade.
My favorite mount! It’s a shame he doesn’t fly. What kind of a Raven is landlocked.
Speaking of mounts……I should go do the Broken Shore/Uniting the Front questline line to get my Lunarwing form.
Anzu isn’t a Horde wildgod.
Arrakoa aren’t a player race.
This is a two faction game.
Nelves get representation in things they were (previously) fully, completely, and wholly disconnected to.
Why is it unreasonable to want Horde representation in things they are completely 100% related to? All Wild Gods are part of the ED/Nelvenweald cycle.
The trolls were not invited to the party because they ate their Wild Gods. don’t make this weird Dreadmoore. They did not respect the Wild Gods they do not respect Night Elves. There is only one singular troll tribe that is neutral to Night elves, and they are neutral to everyone.
Hammul Runetotem is present he’s Horde enough.
You’d just be complaining then that the Night Elves stole Gonk and any other previously shown loa from the Trolls if they showed up at Amirdrassil.
Daughter,
GONK REMAINS UNCONSUMED.
Darkspear have never eaten their wildgods.
To the best of my knowledge, neither have the Zandalari.
Not if he was directly acting with Horde trolls.
Which would be a horrible crime, I know. Can’t have trolls around contributing to the main quest. We had a dungeon with them in ::checks notes:: last expansion.
Well that’s a pretty big ask!!
