So Q'onzu, who are they?

I just gave it to you.
I didn’t say he was dead. You did.
He’s gone. No where to be seen as nelves are given cat raptors.

Well, let’s examine this. Gonk and Q’onzu are so far apart in nature and goals they might as well be on different planets.

Gonk’s titles are:

  • The Great Hunter
  • Lord of the Pack
  • Loa of the Hunt
  • Master of shapes
  • Packstrider
  • Lord of the hunt
  • Loa of Shapes

His entry in the Tales of the Loa is:

Lithe and soundless with padded paw,
He’s quick of mind, and sharp of claw.
He fills de heart with honor and awe.
He is Gonk!

In defense or on attack,
He de one dat has ya back.
De mighty master of de pack.
He is Gonk!

Be it hoof or paw or hand,
He roams de sea and sky and land.
With dis loa we will stand.
He is Gonk!

He is foremost a god of hunting and of the Pack. His role as a facilitator of toll druids gaining multiple loa patrons and thus forms is a secondary one.

Q’onzu, meanwhile is literally the emobdiment of change. They cannot even settle on a specific gender. They describe themselves as such:

I am the cool, fresh scent in the air just before the rain. I am the face you can’t quite remember.

I am the harbinger of change. I am the reaper of consequence.

I serve the unending flow of Life, and I am the victim of its stagnation.

Do I speak the truth, mortal? Or do I deceive you with my grandeur? I was hoping you would tell me.

The nature and personality of the two is 0% alike and there is no real overlap in their domains.

I said he was still very much alive. That’s literally it. You’re the one implying he no longer exists :stuck_out_tongue:

Look up the definition of gone.

For a god of change, qonzu sure likes being in their nelf themed owl form forever.

The only one who needs to look it up, is you mate

You’re literally telling me that I need to provide a source for him being gone when he isn’t present.

lol.
lmao.
:dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Of course he’s not in the current patch.

That’s not what you’re implying. But words are apparently hard for you

Words have meanings. Try using them correctly.

That is the only form we have seen them in yea, but we have no idea what else Q’onzu has been over who knows how many millions of years they have been around.

Their whole shtick is they have been and done basically everything, so they do not much care to be or do anything anymore. They might as well be the God of Ennui. So, all they want is interesting things to happen they have not seen before. Even if that means we all die horribly.

Doesn’t sound like Q’onzu was an owl before:

I expected Cenarius would send some support eventually.

But this foolish, ground dwelling loa?

<Aviana taps her talon in annoyance as she gives Q’onzu a side-eyed glare.>

Loa of change? More like Loa of Chaos

funny how those tend to coincide, huh?

How I picture Q’onzu being most of the time :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s why I think he’s tied to Mueh’zala in a way. Mueh’zala also wanted Spriggan to sow chaos.

I think this is just Aviana referring to Q’onzu’s perceived inaction. Q’onzu’s always perched, and on the ground, but rarely in flight.

He isn’t gone. You cannot be gone from a place you never were.

Yeah. I see no reason to take from that that Q’onzu has changed their form. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have changed their form, but I bet it’d usually be an avian. They like interesting change, and flight allows them to perceive lots of change.

While there should be loa in the Emerald Dream – and Q’onzu doesn’t count in the sense that we normally mean loa – I don’t see any threat from Q’onzu in particular to Gonk. Their senses of change are very different, and change isn’t Gonk’s primary title.

Could have backlined Goldrinn etc. though. Aviana’s the only one of the nelf wild god set who’s interesting as portrayed in game. (I always wonder how a courier to gods became so incredibly haughty!)

Maybe Q’onzu used to be a quail, or a turkey, or an emu. All still avian.

You do know characters can disappear and never be seen again without dying, right?
Right?
I can help you understand the simplest of simple concepts.
I know you can get this.
I have faith in you.

For example,
Anselm is gone.
He is not dead.
But Belmont has replaced him.
Belmont replacing him didn’t kill him.
He just hasn’t been used again.
Ever.

Sure it does.
Q’onzu created owlkin.
Owlkin have been around for a ridiculously long time.

Wild Gods go to the Emerald Dream.
ShadowNightelflands retconned the dream to be one of the oldest things in the universe.
