I mean at least it certainly sounds like it. Maybe as a conduit that exacerbates the other issues in PVP but you have to admit; the people don’t want premade groups in unorganized PVP. Will Blizz ever do anything about it? Who knows - but it sounds like it would be welcomed.
I believe it’s more so a matter of premades vs pugs. I feel like if communities were separated into their own queue away from people solo queueing / party queueing, it wouldn’t be an issue to most players.
Several ways to stop the whining on both sides. Some things I can thing of are cross faction queueing, which can potentially split a premade onto both teams or just allowing premades to queue in a raid group, but only matching them up against other people queueing in a raid group while giving solo/party queues an option to serve as backfill to those queueing in raids.
I mostly solo q these days, and occasionally I premade. Blizz does an okay job of pairing premades vs premades… during prime hours. The biggest issue comes from those off times. It’s easy to seperate people when there are thousands of people queueing at a time, but when there are ~100-200? That’s when the premades are most impactful.
If I’m queueing with a couple of people in the earlier hours it’s no contest. We may as well be fighting comp stomp AI.
Probably because it’s the end of the season and you can have people in blues versus full conquest. Specs like Ret being annoyingly OP against undergeared opponents probably don’t help. Gather a full 5 man like that and you don’t even need much communication to wreak some havoc.
I remember back in Legion such premades suddenly stopped, because gear advantage wasn’t there anymore and you actually had to communicate to get any kind of advantage. I’m not saying bring back templates again, but maybe add a scaling end of the season conquest bonus or something. Although there are conquest boxes I guess, but that’s more for rated players who drown in conquest. Some people also start fresh mid-late season.
Not really, all the complaints are coming from people who are just bad at the game and lose all the time and the easiest complaint is that the other team has a premade because they got stomped
When it actually is a premade, they have no awareness to actually check to see if their own team has a premade and the other side is just better
When the other team has a premade and your team doesn’t (rare) the fact that they’re playing a game that’s designed to encourage you to group with friends in all content is completely lost on them and they for some reason see solo queuing as a badge of honor. As if only good players solo queue and any people who premade are garbage and can’t fight their own battles.
^^ those are the types of people who whine and complain in the forums, their opinions don’t really matter. They’ll never be happy unless they win and don’t want to put in any actual effort into winning
But on top of that, a lot of those threads are talking about sync queuing groups in epic battlegrounds and just call them premades. Those actually ARE an issue and ARE for garbage players
Plus if you removed premades you would get a ton of complaints from people who do actually play the game as it’s intended that aren’t currently complaining.
What the game needs are more premades, more groups queuing up together and get some rivalries going.
Well, there is an elitist response if ever I saw one. How about people that care about the game and don’t like the direction and are worried about the ever-reducing numbers playing PVP?
Well, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that a premade vs a pug is just inherently unfair.
I’m not complaining about premades because I don’t do epic BGs enough and therefore don’t run into a lot of them, but even though that is, for the players who do mostly queue for BGs and epic BGs, I can see how it is unfair to be fighting against a premade.
Also, it’s pretty easy to see if your team is a premade or not. You’ll usually have a specific loud mouth in the BG commanding everyone where to go and even go out of their way to make it apparent that it’s a premade.
yes they are a huge problem it makes the other team players afk out the game causing another mess joining a match thats started and a premade farm fest
Then i would say more of you should group with friends, learn to play a social game and how to have fun in it. Complaining non stop about premades isn’t going to help you have fun. Joining a group with friends will though
Bob, I don’t complain about premade that much. There are years of data for Blizzard to pour over if they so wish. On the odd occasion, they annoy me. Mainly I just /afk and move on to my army of alts and extra accounts and get into a better more competitive game for the most part. That is most people’s solution, which is great for the game, right?
I think when we have this discussion it’s important to clarify what we mean by “premade”.
Is it a 5 man group of friends/guildies quing up?
Or are we talking 15-40 man groups sycing ques so they all get in the same game?
If it’s the latter than yeah that’s not really the way the game is meant to be played and probably isn’t a good thing. If it’s the former being discussed anyone complaining about that is just a crybaby who needs to get over it, that is how the game is designed to work.
Complaints about these two shouldn’t be conflated, one is a legit issue the other is a giant nothing burger.
I mean I’ve had to do that while in a premade. Sometimes the other team is just better ya know? But let’s be real, even if there was a solo queue only option there would still be stomps and people would still afk to an alt in a bad game. It isn’t a good route because that would just split queues and make queue times longer for all, which would make it harder to play with friends. Which at that point why even play this game
Or everyone can start grouping and make randoms fun again. It’s great fun running into a premade you know and have a rivalry with
