So People Want The Water Strider To Be Restricted?

not according to Taliesin & Evitel who were at blizzard testing it out. The mount equipment slot effects your account not your character.

Some people believe Blizzard can do no wrong, and will make any excuse necessary to justify a bad decision on their behalf.

Trust me. There wouldn’t be thousands of posts on this subject if no one cared.

I just want to add my voice with being someone that’s frustrated with the game but also is not upset about the water strider and really likes the mount equipment idea.

Now if we could just get flying sooner too…

Honestly I just find the whole nerf a drag. I’ll still equip the water walking, but I’m going to be whimpering the whole time. I wish every mount had it’s own equipment slot and it was account bound so I don’t have to do it for every character I have.

Don’t act like the same isn’t true the other way. The mental gymnastics people will do to blame Blizzard for literally anything is hilarious.

Sure, but this isn’t one of those cases, so…

You know.

we are getting flying in 8.2, this has been known for ages chill

That’s not the issue here.

Yes, I get free water walking back on one character. But now I have to pay (“greatly reduced” - we have to wait for PTR to see) again for each other character. Taking something away never feels good. It is not fun.

I think the mount equipment giving water walking to those that didn’t have the strider is fine. However, if you decide to earn a special mount, you should get a benefit, i.e. water walking to all your characters.

The issue is, again, that Blizzard are giving with one hand and taking with the other. It’ll be another “yes, we went too far” moment. How many times do we have to hear that.

We can already see the effect of homogenisation of classes. They are becoming just re-skins of each other.

They are doing the same with mounts. It is ok to have something special.

Worse than this, the “mount equpiment” is apparently per character and not per mount. How dumb is that. So rather than giving people a situational choice about which mount to use, all mounts are the same.

And people also don’t want a pair of mounts to completely invalidate hundreds of other mounts because of their abilities. Blizzard was going to just remove waterwalking from it in legion, but has come to a happy compromise of letting you chose if you want water walking or something else on all of our mounts.

If it was per mount then the forums would be complaining that they had to buy a new one for every mount.

wait where did you get the per account thing?, if this is the cast than you get free account wide waterwalking, unless i misread?

Yes they would. It’s the WoW forums. Of course there will thousands of posts. Blizzard could remove a wild squirrel from the game and people would post about it all day.

These forums will complain about literally anything. It should honestly be a sport at this point.

What has that squirrel ever done to Blizzard?!?!

I dont think it is simply the loss of the water strider, it is the idea that we were given something very few probably cared about. When you are given a new system, and one that wasnt particularly asked for and for that new system to work you need to lose what you already had…well it has mixed reactions.

Some people will like this new system others wont, but the point is at face value it isnt a cool enough feature yet, to justify loss. They can prove people wrong if the system is awesome but if its not it is just an annoying system.

The 8.2 reveal was a breath of fresh air and full of solid, good changes and content.

People however, have already made up their mind that they hate Blizzard or they have some other vendetta against them for whatever reason.

This water strider complaint is simply something people are using to give them an excuse to hate or complain. I can’t imagine crying over something so miniscule and so irrelevant. Some of these players are out of touch. Simple as that. Hopefully Blizzard ignores em.
