Yup exactly. But there are different ones. And that may be why people are seeing multiples. Or it may be a setting in some that people don’t have enabled.
Oh well i suppose. If i get silence i wont alert ppl. Ill just kill it. I only got the addon to help others anyways

If someone is running or trying to get to a rare knowing it’s dead already is helpful so they can move on to something else.

I’m so glad I’ve completed the rare part of the meta achievements. I feel sorry for ppl still searching for these rares. I guess you guys are on your own now.

How do you know the difference?
It’s just going to look like a 24 hour silence to the person in question regardless (assuming no prior silences). The game doesn’t tell you that you’ve been squelched.
And if it truly is an enforced silence checked by GMs, then the person likely has the function to spam percentages on, which is way overkill unless it just lists the halfway point or something.
Within 1 minutes of arriving in Mechagon this morning I was greeted by this. One person may not be able to do that but an addon can and does.

People who announce rares are helping others who are hunting rares, simple as that.
These add-ons help people.
It’s faster and easier than manually typing things out.

The silences are from RCR. The community at large finds those addons to be spammy and reports people using it, triggering an auto silence from the algorithms.

The people in question stated they appealed the silence and were denied. If it was a squelch, that would not have happened.
I’ve literally flown across the ENTIRE ZONE and gotten to a rare before it died because of these addons.
